And puts more emphasis on luck, rather than actually knowing your shit.

I quit after the first even when I was losing or TIEing dudes who picked more losers simply because they happened to pick the right round and because even completely whiffing on a pick still gets you a point.

I wish I go to Vegas and do that shit, oh, one of my fighters lost in the parlay? No biggie, I picked the ROUND in which one of my fighters won, bonus points!

The only thing dumber than that is picking rounds of stoppages in boxing, which is beyond retarded. Unless the fight is Mike Tyson vs Floyd Patterson, it's a complete and utter guess, picking the exact round.

I think in the first event following the side prediction contest I raped BOSS in, I still beat him in terms of correct picks but he beat me on the gay point system because I picked a UD for one of the fights and had the method + round.

Regardless of TLC's cry baby whining, the point system does reward guys that get it right. Just ask Godfather. The dude has made up ridiculous ground because he is picking the winner, round and method. Take that to Vegas and you'll make more than simply picking the winner.

Well, Boss closed Newbraski's lead slightly; Jarhead faltered; and Godfather made up more ground. Boss had the best score from the Strikeforce card with 18 points out of a possible 20.

And for the record, due to protest, chick fights WILL NO LONGER be included. Unless Gina Carano fights and then it's tough luck!!

lol, you realise you'd make a fuck load of money if you bet on the exact round in Vegas?

You're rewarded in the real world similarly, rather than just picking a winner. How do you not know that, have you never even looked at betting odds?

And no, it's not guesswork. I knew in the Zab fight if he was going to win by KO it would be somewhere around 5/6/7, otherwise he'll likely win a UD. I picked Zab KO 6. Pretty close. If I had made the educated bet of Zab KO 7 I would have got a big return.

OK, you gotta admit this shit is getting interesting. Godfather and Boss are withing striking distance of our leader, Newbraski. Boss is down by 5 and Godfather by 7.

There is one event left. UFC Fight Night 24 headlined by Little Nog versus Phil Davis. There are some toss up matches on this card including the Korean Zombie-Garcia rematch, so anything could happen. I am probably going to use the four main card bouts and 1 preliminary fight. Study up.

Also, we have a couple weeks before the contest starts for the 2nd quarter. If you have anything you'd like to recommend that we change, please let me know.

I know this isn't a "Real" MMA forum according to TLC, but I still want the contest to be fun and fair.

The intent was to crown a champion each quarter and start fresh the next quarter. That would allow any newcomers to try their hand without being 3 months behind.

So, you have 1 event left to make up 3 points on Braski and grab the crown.

    There is a mistake here
I picked Almeida UD, but wrote it wrong on the prediction page. usually i write my predictions down on a paper and then put the computer. I looked and saw i picked mike Pyle by UD. I WOULD NEVER DO THAT. That must have been an error. I would like those points removed.

You lost me. Your pick shows Pyle UD. Did you change it after the fight?

If you just picked opposite what you meant to, then I think you need to keep the points even if it was an accident.

i picked the opposite of what i meant and i cant keep those points. They arent mine. I Chose Almeida to win the fight. and was upset when he lost. Please trp remove those points from me. I know its a pain, but its not right in my head.

Well, the first quarter has been wrapped up and we have a winner. Fightbeat's most prolific MMA aficionado is:

    NEWBRASKI

When it comes to knowing MMA, Newbraski is the man.

Congrats Newbraski good job but I can't help but be very impressed by Godfather who missed one show and still almost won it all.

Yep. If GF would have picked in the first event, he would be the man right now.

And, if I didn't throw out his correct pick from last week that he asked me to remove, then he would have........

    Ah, nevermind.
