hopkins had better land a huge right hand early on the in the fight and rattle kovalev big time. i still dont think that will be enough to deter the guy from pressing the action and throwing bombs for the first half of the fight.

I respect his longevity and his achievements and rank him highly accordingly. You can't not. But I cannot stand the bastard.

I think Mex has it right. Hopkins will cite an "injury" and not answer the hell sometime late in the fight.

This has work inthe past..so if he sense that Kovalev is toooo much..or that he underestimated him and new to upgrade his strategy....Hopkins will have no problem fakinng a fight ending injury...

Yes, this is a good prediction--Hopkins faking an injury. Then let's just play it out further--he'll blame his age and try to laugh it off so that Kovalev doesn't get the credit and so that Hopkins can go out with an * on the loss.

This is a very winnable fight for Hopkins if he goes into his four corners offense. Pose, throw a few non-descript punches while Kovalev comes straight in and doesn't cut off the ring. We also haven't seen Kovalev in the 9th, 10th or 11th round. Who knows if he has the stamina to go that many and be effective. I'm sure that's what Hopkins is counting on.

We can only hope Kovalev lands something to put the old man to sleep. Hang a LifeAlert necklace on him.

i see no evidence kovalev isnt effective in cutting the ring off. hopkins doesnt have the legs to move around a lot anyhow. if kovalev fights at a strong pace early then i doubt it will make it into the 8th round where perhaps his stamina comes into question.

REED Loooooooooooooooves Sergey Kovalev & is Every Bit as READY for Bernard Hopkins to Be Removed from the Mix as Anybody Else on Fightbeat...But Being HONEST, REED Doesn't have a Strong Feeling Either Way..,

Like Most, REED Envisions Bernard Finding a Way OUT, Before Being Proper KO'ed...But Maybe, just MAYBE Kovalev is Good Enough (Coupled w/Bernard Being OLD Enough) to Get it Done...

John David Jackson will Be HUGE for Kovalev in this Fight...Obviously in Preparation but even MORESO Come Fightnight, Keeping Sergey FOCUSED on the Task, MAINTAING a Uptempo Pace & Coping w/ANY of Bernard's Shenanigans...

Fighters/Trainers SAY All the Right Things when Assessing Hopkins, but we're Talking about a 50 Year Old Man that's NEVER Been Dominated...

One thing about kovalev is he does not load up or otherwise telegraph his punches. Besides being bigger, it's another feature that sets him apart from guys like pavlik.

This. He will go for the DQ/ be DQ'ed & complain/ get injured & complain that it was something Kovalev did. Whatever happens, it will leave another Hopkins-induced bitter taste in the mouth.
My prediction is Hops constantly complaining about "rabbit" punching & going down clutching the back of his head...

I'll go full retard here and will predict Hopkins will embarrass and outclass Kovalev through 12 rounds.

Really looking forward to this one. How will Kovalev react when he can't find Hopkins? How will he react when he can and Hopkins doesn't go anywhere? He has to be busy, up the pace and take some sharp counters in order for him to win...Recent Hopkins' losses have been by fast FIGHTERs...

I've got Kovalev big in this one. Hopkins's a legend but sooner or latter , his time gonna come up, and I think it will be tomorrow vs the fast and powerful Krusher
