The sources told Yahoo Sports that not only have the sides agreed for the fight to be May 2 at the MGM, but also on a 60/40 purse split that would favor Mayweather. Mayweather could make in the range of $120 million. An MGM spokesman told Yahoo Sports that there was no deal for the fight to be held at the Grand Garden as far as he is aware.
In order to pay the astronomical salaries the fighters will command, ticket prices will be scaled at an all-time high. The top ticket at the MGM Grand Garden is expected to go for $5,000 so that the arena can be scaled to produce a $40 million live gate.

A $40 million live gate would be virtually double the existing record gate of $20,003,150, which was set at the MGM in 2013 by Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez.

PPVs prices will be like over a $100.00. We need to pay Floyd his $120 million, won't we?

Two items stick out regarding the article...

1). It's Arum and Pacquaio saying they signed. It's a one sided discussion.

2). The article mentions Pac will wear Cleto Reyes gloves. I can't see Floyd signing off on that based on the glove issues he had with Maidana recently.

Not yet sold, not yet convinced it'll happen.

Yeah, you're probably right. The reality for me is that I would have paid that when the fight was first announced even if I had to watch it by myself. Now? Unless I'm dividing it up, I'd pass. Yes, it will be easy enough to get people to watch it with, but this fight has gone from elite status to a level one or even two steps below now.

And close to 5 million of those were from 2 fights... De la Hoya and Canelo...

Eventhough it should have happened years ago, this is the fight that could cement Floyd's place as the best of his era. He somehow loses, everyone in the business will look at each other that's why he didn't want to fight Manny...

Hopefully it will be the first among many, but there is time to find some other excuse for the fight not to happen though it makes the the most business sense.

he has had more PPVs because he fights more consistently often, you simpleton. he's had 5 more ppvs and still generated over 100 million less in revenue

He already agreed to 60/40 split. Just need Floyd's John Hancock right now...talking is close to finally ending for actual fighting to begin. Floyd doesn't sign he will never hear the end of it...lol

mayweather jr wont sign the deal. why does arum think negotiating through the media is going to shame him into signing? that tactic has proved fruitless

Perhaps he's hoping some balls grow out of Mayweather's vagina.

Maybe he doesn't want to fight a strong speedy southpaw puncher...Like the success Judah had early in their fight times a 100...?

What else besides $120 million plus from a single fight, does he need? 10oz pillow gloves?

Maybe it won't shame Floyd into fighting Pacquiao....but it will surely hurt his next ppv....n ARUM/PAC have never gone this hard at FLOYD in the media...

Because Floyd is ALL about Mainstream Public PERCEPTION...

If, for WHATEVER Reason, Floyd Neglects to Make the Fight Happen This Time, w/EVERYfuckingADVANTAGE on Paper, Contractually, it'll Definitely DIMINISH Floyd's Mainstream Appeal & PPV's...

To end this stupid talking point in the negotiations I think it would be cool if it was winner gets 60, loser gets 40.

I'm more inclined to say it happens this time...only because Les Moonves and CBS is directly involved. They've lost money on their fights with Floyd under the Showtime deal (save for the Canelo fight). I can't see them green-lighting any fight that doesn't include Pacquiao...especially if it's to be believed that HBO has also been involved.

If any of what I said above is true then Floyd has no other choice but to fight. If Arum is full of his usual shit then it's all moot.

Regardless...most boxing fans are past caring about hearing about this. It's only casual fans who think the fight is still relevant. This is very similar to Tyson-Lewis. An event but not a match.

Yeah, its fairly safe to say that it's lost the hardcore "for the history books, for all the marbles" feel that it had 3, 4 years ago.

Now its just a big-money fight that internet fools will parlay one way or the other.

Ironically, the fight was mega big because of PEDs and now it's not because of PEDs.

Hate to rain on the parades, but Floyd has to think and act as 2 separate entities - 1. Owner/CEO of Mayweather Promotions 2. Fighter. Pacquiao only has to think as 1. It makes NO SENSE for Floyd as a business man to lower has own Brand and fight status (ALL Pay per view records are Floyd's) to go 50/50 with Manny. As a fighter he probably would not care because he would put a clause in that the winner gets X% of box office or promotions. But, as the owner of a major promotions company, it would set a HORRIBLE business precedent for himself and every other fighter he represents - Not how business works. In reverse situations Bob Arum (Pacquiao's promoter would NOT accept similar terms). Floyd is NOT afraid of Manny, he will go down as being the G.O.A.T. But I cant wait for this fight to prove it.

Last post absolute hogwash, bufallo cookies...

The one thing that makes the most sense IS the business side of it, and as a FIGHTER, but the latter could be the most difficult or not, he could put his defensive wizardry on Pacman's ass...but Floyd's is not as optimistic...
