Froch himself admitted his only chance was a knockout and that there was no way he could hope to bag enough rounds against Calzaghes skill and workrate. He isn't knocking Joe out so he loses.
Froch lost a very tight decision to Kessler in Denmark (I had the fight a draw, as it goes) after Froch suffered a perforated eardrum in the week before the fight. 'Kessler at home in front of 50,000 leek-waving Taffs' is a very different proposition to 'Kessler in Denmark'. MTF
There is no doubt that Calzaghe is the best Welsh, Guido, Jazzercising, Slapping, Flashdance, Step-Aerobics, Zumba Faggot to ever lace 'em up
Froch lost 8 to 4 to the dane after ward had billygoated him into Bolivian then edged a rematch vs a borderline shot kessler
Agreed , especially this 'Froch should have achieved nothing - he is slow but thinks he is fast, his defence is hideous, he cannot fight a lick against anyone with a bit of speed, he wings punches in the most agricultural way imaginable - yet he has one of the best CV's' That is part of the reason I really enjoyed watching him fight.
Froch personified the old belief-adage that heart chin and desire can make up for a lack of innate skill. I won't say he lacked talent, he had talents, and enough power to take advantage of late-round fatigue in his opponents, but he was not very skilled. That said, in the final round vs Taylor, he was slipping Taylors shots while getting into range to end the fight.
George Foreman's resume is much stronger than Joe Louis' but no one would rate Foreman over Louis. Names on a resume is only part of the requirement for greatness.
Bruce Lee died when he heard GGG parents talking about their plans to get married and have a baby boy.
The biggest knock against Froch is that he remains bitter and unfulfilled......he hates Calzaghe and couldn't help mentioning him again when he announced his retirement. He's like Fernando Vargas with DLH. And he would lose just as badly.
I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but it depends on how we define resume. I was responding to MTF's view that Frock has a better resume than Calzaghe and by that I assume he means fighter names on his list....specifically wins over Abraham, Taylor, Johnson and Kessler. However I think Calzaghe's achievements are better overall, in that he was more dominant....like Louis over Foreman.
Off the top of my head they have two common opponents, Reid and Kessler. By the time Reid fought Froch he was beyond finished. He'd been knocked out by Lacy and the fight meant so little at that point it was fought on a weekday in a 3/4 empty arena. You would have thought Kessler was also done when he fought Froch as he'd been beaten wide by Calzaghe and Ward, yet he still had enough in the tank to beat an unbeaten Carl Froch. Calzaghe was just BETTER, end of.
There are a lot of racists posting in this thread. Obviously the Froch haters dislike him because he's white. :dance2:
You can train the youts in frochs style. Perhaps he can open a gym and have a stable of oafs come out of the uk
Taylor is a clumsy, punchy hillbilly. Who was besting fraud after he was already on the decline Did Taylor ever defeat a top 20 super middle.
Nope, but he sure did lost to a top 2. He also has TWO wins TWO wins TWO wins over HOF IBHOF Gratersford #4546 Hopkins.
Neil, was Taylor not buck thug enough for you, why the need to denigrate the man, is this the kind of JJ Jeffries treatment, he failed to beat the man you needed him to beat now he is a Honky to you...:: Here he is...."besting" Froch.
I think the combination of Taylor's brain damage combined with his awful childhood drove him literally insane. Sad, because I think he was a good guy at heart.
OMG, Taylor does look stark raving bonkers in that shot :: Looks like a crackhead. What was his childhood like Xplosive?
I'm sure there are plenty of black guys that have a perfectly normal childhood in Arkansas, duh. As far as I know, Taylor likes Arkansas. Hasn't he lived there this whole time?
Taylor always said he liked Arkansas and that he liked country music. This makes him akin to Donald McClean or Guy Burgess in Neils mind. Kim Philby didn't do as much traitorous shit as Taylor. 6'1", black as the Ace of Spades, but a traitor to Neil. When he threw that fight vs Craklik, it broke Neils Ming Dynasty heart.
From Sportsmole.co.uk Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested that former IBF, WBA and WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch is itching to get back into the ring after asking questions about Kazakh star Gennady Golovkin. Froch retired from fighting earlier this year, but prior to that, the 38-year-old was tipped to take on Golovkin in his final bout. Hearn has revealed that Froch still has an interest in the unbeaten boxer, who is known as 'GGG', which he believes indicates that he misses the ring. "Carl phoned me for my opinion on the Golovkin fight," Hearn told Fighthype.com. "Something burns away at Carl to get back in the ring." Since retiring, Froch has been carrying out punditry duties for Sky Sports.
Good! I hope it burns him up inside enough that he takes the fight. Golov will make him a Good Farmer Boy.
