I think ole Frochy deserves to go out with an easy win and some good money. In other words, he deserves to do us ALL a favor and beat the living shit outta that turd that JCC should have had aborted. Can't see him wanting to fight Ward again. Froch has to know deep inside that Ward is outta his league. I welcome of the idea of this fight. I'm sure Froch has NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER taking this fight, it'll all come down to if Junior has the balls to take this thrashing.
I think this is what'll happen. Good on him, it'll give him the Vegas fight he craves and a big crowd.
I gotta give this much to Froch: He might be the LEAST talented fighter to ever be as successful as he's been. Let's face is, as far as Brits go, he's not NEARLY as talented as Calz and Eubank were. But he sure as shit got the most outta what he had. He'll batter Chumpez Junior. I don't even think Junior would beat Groves.
Agreed totally, you have to give the guy credit. It still perplexes me how exactly he's been this successful but hey, fair play. I'd pick Groves over Chavez too, Chavez is awful.
Same here, I am honestly still perplexed, despite being on the Frock wagon for a while. You see him looking like this slow, clumsy, uncoordinated oaf - yet beating the shit out of people, and you think how the fuck does he do it? :: You have to respect a guy like that. He really has maximised minimal talent, to the extreme. He's a funny guy.
No he isn't. He's just bigger than all of his opponents. Against a world class fighter more or less his own size, like Frock, he'll get battered from pillar to post. You're alright Silent, but your boxing opinions are fucking terrible.
Froch would win, sure. But you people act like any time he fights a top fighter it will be like Mayweather-Gatti. He's not that bad.
This forum said the same things about Froch, ironically enough. I've been on the bandwagon for years. Chavez Jr is a bit of a diva but he has a granite chin, great size and a real fighting spirit to him. He gets no credit for anything because people hate him so much.
Chumpez Junior fuckin blows! If he goes life and death with Brian Vera, he ain't beating Froch. Froch is Ezzard Charles compared to Vera. I mean, we're talking about the same Brian Vera who got thrashed badly by Kirkland.
Ignoring he was completely unmotivated and in poor shape. He completely outclassed Vera in the rematch, did you block that from memory?
Whoooaaaaaa, outclassing Brian Vera!!! That's the shit legends are made of! Brian Vera has no business lasting the distance with any top fighter.
I don't think very highly of Chavez but I do think he'd be competetive with Froch, who is being overrated a lot here. Chavez is big, durable, he throws accurate punches with good form... Froch leaves himself open for well placed shots on a regular basis... I think Froch beats him simply by virtue of being busier and his awkward offense causing Chavez some issues defensively... Chavez isn't like his dad, he's a spurt fighter. But I don't see some incredible battering by Froch, either... He beat George Groves, for fuck's sake and it isn't like it was a cakewalk for him, knockout or no knockout
I don't think Froch will stop him, but I think he'll beat him up pretty good and win and 9 or 10 rounds. Chavez is pretty damn mediocre.
Chavez might have a size advantage over Froch. That should give you some idea how much bigger he was than his opponents at 154 and 160.
Froch is physically stronger than Chumpez. Pounds don't always equal strength. We saw Provo physically man handle Alvarado, when Alvarado had about 10 extra pounds on him.
:bears: These guys talk as if he's fighting Marvin Hagler and is facing imminent death or something. :scratcher:
GGG would stop Chavez. He has the firepower, arsenal, and accuracy to do it. Not sure Froch has enough firepower. Chavez is crap, but yeah, he takes a much better punch than Groves.
GGG is not a big man, though... If he carries extra weight well, he certainly has the offense to batter him Sparring is one thing, but a full 12 round fight is another
