    So which is more believable?
    * Street-racers/criminals saving the world from evil geniuses/villains
    * Men/Women with super-strength & super-powers saving the world from evil geniuses/villains

The superheroes of course because there is not 'saving the world from evil geniuses/villains' except in a comicbookish sci-fantasy scenario. You are willing to go along that premise and enjoy the expected CGI mayhem. Street-racers/criminals however are too grounded in reality to succeed in that kind of comicbookish scenario. Is asking way too much for mere 'family' mortals to constantly defy physics and laws of gravity.

I can imagine the studio honchos talking to the script doctors brainstorming ideas for a remake of the little remembered 1955 film 'The Fast & The Furious' (which by the way had a better plot):
"Keep the title! Keep the racing cars & chases! Make it into a Point Break meets The Road Warrior! No one will notice!!!":atu:

Never seen any of the Fast Furious movies. Just couldn't imagine ever watching anything with Vin Diesel in it for any reason.

    Vin Diesel is a cunt.

The Rock and ´The Stathe´ are what makes the new movies awesome!

And also his character, Dominic Torreto, that was missing in Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Plus no Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, The Rock, Kurt Russell, Ludacris, Tyres Gibson...basically everyone and everything that makes the franchise watchable...

Fuck all the 'but it's important to the back story & timeline'....Just cos it saved the franchise don't mean shit.

It looks like Fate of The Furious is running out of gas fast in its second weekend. While it will still remain at the #1 spot again due to practically no competition from the new releases, all of which failed to crack the top five, 'Fate' had a 60% drop with an approximate $35 million for this weekend. Not that it matters so much as the film is currently north of $900 million worldwide, but it tells that this entry wasn't as loved as the two prior ones as its engine is not performing with as much horsepower as the others did after the first week.

    No Brian O'Connor.
Paul Walker had a big fan-base...

    Still a good movie though:
    72% Rotten Tomatoes
    7/10 IMDB

I think also people are gearing up for some big movies coming out. Probably saving money.

I just think that franchise loyal fans went en masse on its debut, but stayed home on the second week instead of repeated viewings. This weekend was mainly the people that are curious about it, but didn't want to make a long line last week.

Was never big on this franchise after seeing the first three. I'm thinking about giving part 4 and the ones that followed a check to see if it appeals to me. Of course it will have to wait in line but I'll get to it eventually.

Start with Fast 5 but turn-off your brain and movie-critic head first!

Otherwise you'll review it like cdogg would review any modern-day action movie...
