    Agreed.

The fact that Golovkin didn't stop him doesn't constitute a failure or an inability, by the same token.

I feel credit has to be given to Jacobs here. His movement and body positionning really troubled GGG and made him hard to touch cleanly. He has a tendency to shoeshine though and I think it probably made him look more successful than he really was. Gotta give him props though, he did way better than everyone thought he would, probably even himself.

The Thing About it is You Repeatedly Reference Jacobs Weight, as if He Were Being Disingenuous or Dare REED Say, Cheating...

The "Cold Hard" FACT of the Matter is Jacobs Brought Some WBC Designation Into the Ring, NOT IBF...And Beyond That, Motherfucker Weighed In UNDER the Middleweight Limit, Period...And No, GGG Wasn't Fighting a "Lightheavy", Because TRUE Lightheavy's Are 185-190+ Pounds on Fightnight...

You're Attempting to Portray Jacob's Weight as a Caveat for GGG, and That's Bullshit....

Yeah, I don't feel Jacobs' size had as much to do with his performance as his movement, general defense and speed.

    Caveat means "Beware".

I think that when a competent fighter is heavier, it will colour the result or the proceedings somewhat.

I find plenty of positives in Golovkins win.

I referred to the weight as a "game changer, if there is one".

That;s as far as I went.

Which is why I drew a distinction between the "functional weight advantages" of people like Victor Ortiz and Canelo on one hand and that of Jacobs on the other.

Jacobs had the frame and skills to get use out of his weight.

Why did Jacobs put the weight on, if he didn;t feel there was an advantage to it :dunno:

No one should be too surprised at the result. Jacobs is a very good fighter who brought his best last night. I knew this would be a very competitive fight. When you reach the championship level, you are going to start having close fights now and again. I think most people underestimated Jacobs chin.

Every one of Ricardo Mayorga's opponents were fucking "cheaters." They didn't smoke two packs of cigarettes a day like he did.

Sons of bitches just looking for any old way to take advantage of the rules! :flip:

Per Merriam-Webster, the English Retained "Caveat" to Mean Warn, Caution or EXPLAIN...And Clearly, You've Been Doing the Latter...

The Cliff Notes Version of your Post Fight Comments Amounts To "Triple G is a Victim of his Own Success AND He was Facing a Bigger Man."

Please Be Wary of that Bigger Man/Size Angle, Unless You're ALSO Prepared to Colour the Proceedings of Wlad's Entire Career with the Same Set of Crayons...

Was feeling lately that GGG wss overrated and starting to slip. But him needing a contentious decision to get past Jacob is still very surprising

TO be honest, Geale was exposing the limitation of GGG before the KO. He wasn't winning, but he was making GGG look like crap

Not having a chance is a bit steep. I think he would be competitive with all of them.

Again, Jacobs saw profit in coming in as heavy as he did, forfeiting the title in exchange for a shot at victory.

That's not even remotely a decent analogy.

And I never said Jacobs cheated.

I said his coming in heavier was a "game changer"- in fact I checked the odds to see if they had narrowed, but they were still 5-1 Jacobs.

You went on and on about a "15 pound weight advantage." Did GGG really weight 161 at fight time?

As Reed stated the "he's fighting a light heavyweight tonight" shit is weak too. Light heavyweights weigh more than 175 at fight time.

Again, Jacobs Came into the Fight as Some Lower Level WBC "Champion", Which Made Him GGG's Mandatory, Basically...

The IBF Rule is Self Serving BS, Since Jacobs OFFICIALLY Weighed In UNDER 160lbs and There were Additional Title Belts @ Stake, Dude...Jacobs Was There to DEFEAT Triple G, Not to Win the "Prestigious" IBF Title...

And Like REED Said, as a Card Carrying Klitschko Fan, You're on a Slippery Ass Slope Basing Jacobs' Performance and Level of "Success" on a Weight Advantage...

    Exactly

It seems that since WK career is basically over, Irish had to find a new eastern euro fighter to blindly defend.

Nobody, nobody here can ever say I gave a fuck one way or the other about Golovkin.

I just happened to watch his fight last night as it was on Boxnation.

The same reason I will watch Canelos fraud with Fat Son of the Drunken Legend.
