You see? That's what happens when you strike against 'wrestlers' compared to striking with 'strikers'. Jackson was a striker, whereas guys like Ortiz, Horn, Couture, and Sobral were wrestlers trying to imitate strikers.:: So what does this say about Liddell? He dominated UFC wrestlers. Now that the Pride guys are coming in, mofo got KTFO and Rogan sang his obituary in the post fight saying "You've always given us great fights, you've been a great champion and we wish you all the best.....!!!":dunno: Jackson has the kind of game that would just own Liddell time and time again. His striking is way too solid. Liddell is just a flat footed stiff with crappy ass technique and a glass jaw. It was bound time he got exposed for his lack of skills. I don't want to sh*t on the guy but I feel the UFC has done a swell job in marketing UFC fighters like Liddell and Ortiz as being the best in the world. Now people are seeing that there are guys outside of the States who can eat these UFC boys for breakfast. It's gonna be damn near impossible for guys like Ortiz and Liddell to ever make it back to the top now that fighters like Rampage, Shogun and Henderson have entered the division.
His footwork, defense, and overall stand up technique is a f*cking joke! Complete joke! And his chin is apparently glass.
True, but for the most part I've seen Chuck fight that way in many fights. That backfoot circling style where he looks like he's scared of contact. He fought like that against Couture in the 2nd and 3rd fights. Normally his habit of trying to sucker opponents in and catch them. It's always been his gameplan for every fight. Motherf*cker was saying he wanted a piece of CroCop and Fedor.:: You see what happens when you believe in your own hype? It's a crash landing back down to earth. And Chuck actually thought he could stand up and strike with a world class boxer. Jackson isn't anywhere near world class as a boxer but by MMA standards, he's very good. Hats off to em.
i just rewatched the first jackson, fight same fuckin fight, jakson was landing that right at will, bum ass chuck didnt change shit
Thats exactly what CHuck has been saying. He said he didnt change shit. He has been fighting the same way. His dumb ass should have changed something.
He did change something tonight. He fought MORE SCARED. That's changing something isn't it? Maybe not for the better but it's still a change.
We've seen this time and time again- Big time champion thinks that all he has to do is show up and land one big punch and gets knocked out Tyson- douglas Tito- Hopkins now Liddell ________ VAPORIZER SAFETY
I don't know if his chin is glass or not, probably not a good chin but glass may be pushing it a bit, he got caught going back with his hands down by a shot he never saw coming from a known puncher.
i think those guys mentioned above were on a little bigger high then a man who was tottally dominated by his oponent
Actually, if you actually watched MMA instead of bitching about it, you'd know that Jackson is primarily a wrestler.
He's a superior athlete, he's able to make the transition from wrestling to boxing alot better than the flat-footed stiffs out there like Ortiz. Let's just say that boxing comes alot easier to Jackson than it does to guys like Babalu, Couture and Ortiz. That's all I'm saying.
Jackson has fought in K1, he's a decent striker. Chuck just sucks balls. I won $750 on TUF idiots thinking Chuck would wreck Rampage.
I remember of TUF4, they brought in Lidell to give some advice to fighters in the two camps. I found it hilarious when Chuck as showing Matt Serra how too much with his crappy technique, Chuck throws a windmill/arm punch and says, "You see you just gotta snap it down like that! one montion". Serra was just nodding his head and saying, "OK" when deep down inside you knw he was wondering,"WTF is this guy talking about?" Never really though Liddell was that great, he has good takedown defense but that's about it. Garbgage tecnique otherwise.
Damn it, will you keep your fag ass away from me? It's ridiculous how much you follow me around begging for my attention. Quit stalking me queer.
I think they got smashed out in an early fight when they weren't wearing mouth guards. I'll ask somebody who might know on another board.
You are mixing up Liddell and Rich Franklin. I don't think Liddell was even on TUF 4 at anytime. Now Rich Franklin gave Serra some stupid idea about starting the fight on his knee so the other guy couldn't kick him and Serra looked at him like he was fucking crazy and joked on him after they got back to the house.
And that was just a few weeks prior to Rich getting stomped by Anderson Silva. Serra must've been laughing his ass off.::
nah, chuck came in as a guest coach for one of the seasons....maybe it wasnt four, but he did give someone pointers on how to throw that "rubber band" punch as I think he called it
Unfortunately, Chuck didn't state the disclaimer on when to use that 'rubber band' punch.:: "Only use this punch on wrestlers, do NOT use on legitimate strikers otherwise you're likely to get countered and KTFO."
