After seeing the press conference, I’m 100 percent convinced that Ryan is not taking this fight seriously. He’s here for a pay day.

The good news is that this fight is getting a lot of mainstream attention. I'm all for any fight getting mainstream attention, as long as it involves two pros, and not streamers like Jake Paul or KSI. Haney-Garcia is gonna do well on PPV I think. No way it touches the buys Davis-Garcia did last year, but it should do fairly well. A lot of casuals will be ordering.
When it turns out to be a one sided fight it wont benefit boxing. The Abdul Wahid - Garcia fight sold great but wasnt some stellar battle to lure in casual viewers. mismatches dont help the cause
I somewhat disagree. No, mismatches aren't good, but in this particular case, most people are tuning in to see Ryan get his ass whupped. If that's what happens (and that is what will happen), then they'll be satisfied. I'm sure there's some delusional people who will order it thinking it's a 50-50 fight, but most people out there understand that Haney is the big favorite.

Also, there's a better chance of this fight being competitive than Davis-Garcia. I said numerous times before Davis-Garcia that I saw ZERO path for Ryan winning. There is a path for Ryan beating Haney. It's not the most likely path, but at least it exists.
I'm sure he' s getting high from time to time., but not on a regular basis where it could really hurt his performance. However, there's definitely a ''cash out'' vibe coming out of Garcia so I wouldn't be totally shocked if he s not taking this seriously.
