No homo, but whens the last the welterweight division came down to a round robin between four pretty boys?

Spence, Brook, Garcia, and Thurman look like they could form a 90s R&B group.

Pretty much what I said yesterday.

    >>If they refuse, they give up the belt. Spence has been the mandatory for close to a year and he was forced into a fight with Bundu to keep the mandatory spot. They can fight Spence or let him fight the Aussie for that belt.<<

I saw pomonerov on some undercard. Wasn't impressed. Spence takes him apart

Pomonerov has already turned Spence down either last year or the year before. I think they said he had a hand injury. He was actually the #1 contender when Spence was #2.

If Spence-Brook takes place, I'd be surprised if Brook wins but not all that shocked. He has qualities as a fighter that could bring out the best in Spence, or possibly break him, if he is not the real deal.

I fully expect Spence to beat him, though.

It looks like the fight is going to happen. It goes to a purse bid on Tuesday, Feb 14. It was supposed to happen Feb 7 but both camps requested a week delay.

I commend Brook for taking the fight.

But Spence will stop him late. Competitive fight, though.

I gotta give it up to Kell Brook... he has more balls than Run Time and Cherry Garcia.

If Spence impressively stops Brook, the Thurman-Garcia winner will probably demand 50 million to fight him.

Brook is the stiffest test for Spence at 147, and stands a much better chance at beating Spence than Thurman/Garcia do. I've said for awhile now.

If Spence beats Brook in style, bet the fuckin farm on him beating the Thurman/Garcia winner.

Saying this is the best fight in the division would go down to the eye test because both of these guys have garbage resumes. Two of the worst resumes in all of boxing for top fighters.

I AM still looking fwd to the fight.

This IS the best fight in the division. To hardcores like us it should be.

To the mainstream, Thurman-Garcia is better... and that IS a very good matchup, but I rate Spence and Brook as the two best welters in the world. Thurman and Garcia are the next two.

Not that it means much, but Thurman beat Porter a lot more impressively than Brook did. Let's stop overrating Brook. Guy has one decent win, and it was a contentious one.
