Which fight would it be and why? Maybe you wouldn't stop the fight when it was stopped ? Maybe your favorite fighter lost and you would "help him out" to win and dq the other guy or give him a long count ? Maybe you would stop a fight because a guy was taking too much punishment ? Dq for something ? Whatever the reason let's hear and tell us why.
so you can deny him a well-deserved victory via brutal KO in one of the best fights of all time? yeah, GOOD choice:wack:
Coggi-Gonzalez 1 is the worst robbery ever, so I'd probably pick that and give Gonzalez his deserved world title win. I would also DQ Pedroza against LaPorte. Ali-Liston 2, well I'd give Liston the full count he should have gotten, even if he wad acting. Ali was not in the neutral corner so the count shouldn't have started.
I would have stopped Ali-Holmes as soon as Ali landed one punch. I would have jumped in to rescue Holmes and awarded Ali a TKO victory Also, I would have given a long count to Duran against Hearns so the fight would have continued
i would choose to be russell mora from this past weekend, and i would aspire to go the halpern route on the following monday.
Yeah, Mills Lane was a f*cking little bitch! That fight would've gone on until the very end. Let Tyson keep biting Holyfield's ear. Holyfield can keep headbutting him. Sh*t evens out! :rock1:
Chavez vs Taylor I. I don't stop the fight, and 1,0000,00000,0000000,00000000,00000000,0000000 Terabytes of bandwidth never need to get wasted.
I would ref Lewis Akinwande I wouldn't stop the fight I would make them fight past the 12 rounds to the finish to the death or till they fucked the way it was going...
I'd like to swap places with Mills Lane and be the referee for Starling-Honeyghan. I would have taunted Lloyd all night. "Damn Lloyd, what are you swinging at cause you ain't hitting shit." "Damn Lloyd, that eye looks nasty. Wanna mirror." "Damn Lloyd, you look like you wanna quit.. You wanna quit?" Yeah, that would be fun.
one of the most awesome performances ever... Evrtything that Starling at his best was, the truly great fighter he should have been, it was all on display that night... he was Honeyghan's master Lloyd looked like "can I be your friend?" by about the 3rd round
Wow. That fag being beaten up by Honeyghan must really have hurt you guys. No Hagler vs Curry at 160? Too bad.
Gay^^^ I could care less about Don Curry... I just found Honeyghan a detestable shit talker and I loved Marlon Starling
I would have PROPERLY checked Luis Resto's gloves before his match with Billy Collins. As Tony Perez should have done. THere are a number of Perez fights I would like to have replaced him for in boxing's history. worst......ref.....ever
indeed horrible ref what is amazing too is that no one broadcasting that fight, no one at ringside, no one in Collins's corner noticed, during the fight, that Resto, a light-punching trialhorse was landing shots that sounded like a telephone book being smashed with an aluminum baseball bat
I liked Curry. In fact, I actually have always had a special place in my heart for guys from the 1980 US Olympic boxing team. First, much of the team dies in a plane crash and then those that weren't on the plane don't get to fight in the Olmpics because of the Boycott. I've always liked Bumphus, Czyz, Curry, Alex Ramos, James Shuler, James Broad, Leroy Murphy, etc. Curry is not my reason for loathing Honeyghan. No, my hatred for Honeyghan started the second he ran across the ring and hit Johnny "Bum City" Bumphus before the bell even rang starting round 2. Honeyghan landed a left hook that actually knocked Bumphus down.. Come to think of it, in staying in the theme of this thread, I'd like to replace the ref that night in England and immediately DQ Honeyghan for that bullshit. But then again, if I do that then I probably deprive boxing fans of watching Lloyd embarrassed against Starling. What a paradox.
In the spirit of the thread.... Tyson vs Douglas. When Tyson drops him in the 8th I'm stopping the fight after the count of 5!! :giggle:
That one don't matter. Paret was fatally injured from the Fullmer beating. There is a good chance he could have died at pretty much any stage of his career, whilst still active, after the Fullmer fight. Beatings sometimes stay with a guy. Look at the guys who make it home and then die, like James Murray.
that Fullmer fight is just brutal pushed him around like he was a flyweight and Paret was a good fighter
Fullmer was stupid-strong. Mormons fighters come into the ring angry, as they know they are already 10% down on their final pay.
I agree with this. Many have said the same regarding Michael Watson before the Eubank fight. Watson was brutalized by McCallum and many think that fight had "softened him up". It may have been just a matter of time before someone permanently injured him in the ring.
