Surely anyone giving Hopkins 6-7 rounds deserves whatever evil comes their way. But Kenny has given a face to boxing on ESPN, with continued promotion of the sport, but are his stupid takes on things just too much to overlook?

Tons of people thought Hopkins won the fight. Brian Kenny is not alone.

They always talk boxing on Kenny and Kellerman's radio show on ESPN Radio. They're pretty much the only show that talks about boxing. The only time other shows even mention it is if it's something bad, like a Tyson arrest.

So Brian Kenny is very good for boxing.

The Kellerman\Kenny radio show is excellent by the way. Kellerman is a diehard Yankee fan and makes no apologies for his bias, which is good. And they have a lot of fun with the show too. There's a caller who calls himself 'Mel Gibson', who won't speak to Kellerman because he's a jew. And of course, there's Mecha-Brian Kenny.

    Good stuff.

there were a lot of folks at ringside who thought hopkins won 6 rounds. 7 is stretching it. i thought he won 5, but calzaghe himself admitted it was a close fight tho.

i dont think kenny's bad for boxing. he's the face of espn and has a lot of power to provide boxing coverage on the network.

at the end of the day, brian kenny having a unique scorecard of his own doesnt really change the fact that it was a dull fight.

Kenny is a very biased individual, and has produced some awful scorecards over the past few years, along with Bob Papa.

 You "boxing fans" will never be happy until boxing is off the air completely. Brian Kenny, bad for boxing?

C'mon Jaws, cut the dramatics. I had to think for a couple seconds to even distinguish Brian Kenny from Bob Papa and Joe Tessitore.

These guys are about as innocuous as they come. Who gives a shit what their scorecards said? :dunno:

There's a radio show in the Bay Area with Tom Tolbert and they often talk boxing. Manny Steward is almost a regular guest before important HBO fights.

I can't stand sports radio, but I try to tune in on a Thurs or Fri of a big fight week to hear when/if they're going to have some boxing guests on.

Kenny's better than nothing, but he's worse than Kellerman, who at that time was better than nothing, as well.

That's about the best I can say for either.

They don't even compare to what Al Bernstein brought to the role.

Overall, Brian Kinney is DEFINITELY Good for Boxing...

But like Anybody Else, he's FLAWED...

The Way he Handled the Whole Floyd-Linear Welterweight Title Situation Being the most PROMINENT Example N REED's Mind...

From Day 1, Kinney SHITTED on Floyd vs Zab @ Every Opportunity, Cause it Wasn't for the "Linear Welterweight Title"...& Cause Zab was Coming Off the LOSS to Baldomir...

The Thing is, Kinney NEVER Said Shit about when Manny Pac Fought Erik Morales, who was Coming Off of a Loss...Zahir Raheem was even a Studio Guest just Prior to that Fight, but there was NO Soapbox Treament from Kinney...

Kinney STRESSED the Ultra Importance of Being The "Linear" Champion, then had NATHAN to Say about it 1nce Floyd Acquired the Title...It's Funny, NOBODY Else N Boxing Cared as Much about Floyd Getting the "Linear" Title as Kinney Did...

The Fact that the Fight SUCKED Stood w/Everybody MUCH MORE than any "Linear" Hogwash...
