2 crafty counter punchers with great head movement who also fought off the ropes. Who do you think wins this blood bath?
Toney at his best was a bit sharper and faster. He also wasnt the bleeder Galindez was.. He wins a competitive decision. Anything else than toney at his best, Victor outworks him
I'd go with Galindez without hesitation. Toney did nothing at 175 to warrant picking him over Galindez, and I also think Galindez's style is problematic for Toney. Galindez roughs Toney up and clearly out-fights him to a clear UD.
Toney had no performances worth anything at 175. He lost to Griffin and that's it; there's no reason to choose him against any decent light-heavyweight he isn't tailor made to beat.
Are we talking about the actual toney at 175, who was lazy and unmotivated? Or a mythical version of Toney who could have been a beast at 175 if he gave a damn? There's no reason to think Toney couldn't have been great at 175, since he was great at 168 and 190
In a mythical marchup a fighter has to have shown he can perform well in said weight class. Toney, for whatever reason, never performed optimally at 175. No where near well enough to favor him over the best light heavyweight of the mid-70s and an ATG light heavy in general.
It's obvious he sucked at 175 cause he was training on bk, hence him ballooning up not long after. Again, if he was able to perform at 168 and 190 (and even at hw), there's no rational reason that can explain im "sucking" at 175 bar not taking the sport seriously (which was known by everyone)
Disagree, iirc I had Toney winning one close and losing one close. Even if Toney should've won, it was against Griffin. That's the level that Toney fought at 175. He may as well have skipped the weight class entirely.
