Haye might be able to bum rush and score a knockdown but he's getting discombobulated and flattened sooner or later.
Am gonna say it, I don't really get the thing in the UK with David Haye. I know the heavyweight division was bereft at the time outside of the Klitschkos, but I never took him seriously as a genuine challenger. He was a good cruiser, and the Mormeck win was a fine win, but even there his reputation is massively overstated. I've heard people call him the second best cruiser behind Holyfield (now 3rd after Usyk), its bollocks. Qawi would have ruined him. I actually thought he lost the Valuev fight, which is considered his greatest win (ffs). He was quick and had power, so I wouldn't rule out a flash knockdown, but he got REALLY sloppy once a fight got past the 3rd, Louis fucking terrorises him past that point.
If Haye drops Louis it would be more like a Tito Trinidad "whoops I went down, now I woke up and I'm gonna plaster the shit outta you" flash knockdown
Agreed, I thought he was so sloppy. As they would say here, “a leap amateur”. People raved so much about his hand speed, and his right hand was indeed fast and powerful. But the speed on his combos were not impressive. They were all sloppy and not fluid.
yeah, his pot shot ''straight right hand'' was fast and nicely executed, but the rest of his game was rather slow and sloppy
I remember one UK writer saying “David Haye is easily the fastest heavyweight since a prime Muhammad Ali”. Some commentators said the same thing during one of his fights, I think against John Ruiz. I was wondering what the hell they were looking at, or if they never heard of this totally obscure guy who became the youngest HW champ ever in 86’.
To be honest, there's no such thing as an UK writer or commentator. They're all cheerleaders over there.
