LOS ANGELES (May 8) – The scheduled May 31 fight between Shane Mosley and Zab Judah has been canceled due to an arm injury suffered by Judah during his Las Vegas training camp it was announced by Golden Boy Promotions today. The HBO Pay-Per-View event was scheduled to take place at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. http://fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=21550
Oh shit, what a cunt. For some reason I was really looking forward to this fight. Even though Mosley would have battered him, it was an interesting style matchup, a nice handspeed fest.
Was the Word "CANCELLED" Specifically Used???:dunno: ...If So, that Insinuates that there's NO Plans to RESCHEDULE the Bout @ All... "POSTPONE" is the More Appropriate Term, if the Fight will Eventually Take Place... REED Was Mildly Looking Forward to the Matchup Itself, but it NEVER Belonged on PPV... REED
"Judah suffered multiple severe lacerations on his right forearm and received 50 stitches to close the wounds suffered in an accidental fall." Sounds like Kelly Pavlik.
Richard Schaefer: "We are already in discussions with all parties involved to attempt to reschedule the fight for the near future."
Speaking of which, is the HBO Tripleheader (Angulo, Kirkland, Gamboa) Still INTACT???:dunno: REED is Asking Because Didn't Gamboa JUST Fight on the DeLa-Forbes Undercard???... REED:dunno:
I think it is. That was a different Gamboa...he was in against Danny Garcia, one of the undefeated prospects Finkel has, I believe.
I wish it were cancelled completely, beating Judah equates to a complete and utter waste of time, does Shane want to be top of the pile, or is he just hanging around for a couple more meaningless fights before retiring, I dont understand the purpose, if he's just fighting Judah as his farewell fight then ok, fine,..
Well, I think it was more of a stay busy fight for Mosley. The delay is supposed to be four weeks for Judah (without training), so I guess it will depend on how quickly they can find a new date and then make this fight.
Who else was there to fight? With the exception of Floyd, all the other notable names in the division were already matched up.
Andre Berto or Josh Clottey comes to mind, Clottey would be a solid win, and an opponent who deserves a crack at the bigtime,.. Shane is noteable for being the kind of honourable fighter who gives these high risk/low reward opponents a chance.
I really doubt Berto's team would put him in with Mosley at this stage in his career. Maybe Mosley-Clottey. Actually I'd like to see that fight.
Clottey has been squealing and howling and bawling for an oppurtunity at anything and anyone, he deserves it more than Zab,.... this is what makes me dissapointed in Mosely, contrary to the course he chose during his career, this time, he's picked the very fighter that encapsulates "lowest risk for the highest reward" more than anyone in the entire fucking sport...that's ok for a farewell fight, but to seal your legacy in the twilight of your career?..it's fucken shit.. Zab is an oppurtunists dream, he's Top Rank's favourite gimp, hence why Fraud and Cotto fought him consecutively,...in 'superfights':: .... when Arum was lining Judah up for Margarito, I was going to jump right off the bandwagon.
Word from my boys in Vegas is that Judah was partying his ass off and was seen at the clubs fucked up bad on two occassions and hasnt trained hardly at all.
