Wait. Boxing virtuosos: you forgot to mention Floyd Mayweather...that could upset some people around here.

I was actually surprised at how often Marriaga made Loma miss. Obviously he was not winning rounds. But his head movement and lateral movement did keep him alive for several rounds. I actually think Loma's little pats on Marriaga's head were a sign of frustration.

and he barely got hit at all and was getting busted up a bit. what happens when he fights a guy who can crack and is able to land more often?

guys can lose fights when their face falls apart. some fighters are prone to cuts/swelling and it certainly is a disadvantage. he had a mouse under his eye a few years ago against some scrub he fought too

So he got a mouse under his eye a couple of times in fights and a cut from a head butt and not he is going to get his face busted up and stopped?

Re-watching Broner-Garcia, it was HIGLY APPARENT that AB could have given it a much better go if he wasn't a mental midget. When he was aggressive, and let his hands go, he was right there with Mikey. He's just too much of a puss to pull the trigger against a dangerous opponent.

The fighter than will beat Loma will go balls-to-the-wall to take him out of his comfort zone.

You won't beat Loma with the patient/tactical approach Mikey has.

Mikey's UNDEFEATED, X, Meaning he HASN'T Been Pushed to Certain Limits, as of Yet...

Prior to the Broner Fight, Mikey Wasn't Known for Body Punching Either, yet Out of Nowhere, There he Was Taking Advantage of Broner's High Guard, Banging him to the Body...

Just Because Mikey HASN'T Come Out of his Patient/Tactical Approach Doesn't Mean he's INCAPABLE of Doing So...

THe patient tactical approach could work against Loma, if Mickey is able to time his movement and land some bombs when he's coming in. Not an easy thing to do obviously, but possible

EVERY fighter is undefeated until they're not anymore.

Countless people are picking Canelo to take Golov's 0.

I'm saying Loma (or Crawford) would take Mikey's 0.

To your first point... I was actually disappointed in Mikey's body attack against AB. I would have liked to have seen him utilize the hook the body MORE, as I believe it could have set up stopping Broner.

Loma would school the shit out of Davis right now, and I say that as a fan of Davis, the kid is very, very good, but he's not in that class yet.

For a Guy that Hasn't Gone to the Body Much, REED was Fairly Impressed with Mikey's Body Work...Something he Could Afford to Use MORE Though, Moving Forward...

The Thing is, his Jab was PENETRATING Broner's High Guard, More Times than Not. And he was Hooking Around and Under the Guard...

Toooooo MUCH Toooooo Sooooon for Gervonta...

If Lomachenko's In his Weight Range in Another Year or 2, THAT's the Time to Make that Fight Happen...

Gervonta's Career Could Be Irrevocably DERAILED, Taking a Loma Fight Toooooooooo Sooooon...

I don't see the Gervonta hype, I really don't. Don't get me wrong, I do like that a young African American fighter is receiving attention, because it doesn't happen often anymore. But I don't think Davis is anything special.

Loma is better than Davis will ever be. Davis will NEVER develop the skill set and talent that Loma has.

Gervonta gets too reckless at times. Loma would counter the shit out of him.

    This...

He DOESN'T Fight Anything Like Broner, Nor Does He Have A.B.'s Personality, but THE WAY Gervonta's Beating Guys Reminds REED of THE WAY Broner Beat Guys Coming Up Thru the Ranks...

Against a Certain Level of Fighter, Broner Looked Like Floyd Mayweather WITH Power, @ Times...That Being Said, he's 0-3 Against the 3 BEST Guys he's Faced, and NONE of the Fights were All That Close Either...

Like Broner, Gervonta Strikes REED as a "Reactor", More Than a "Thinker"...When Forced Into THINKING/ADJUSTING, a Pure Reactor is Fucked...

if, If, IF Lomachenko vs. Gervonta Happens, it Needs to Be a Year (Preferably 2) Down the Line...And Even Then, Loma Would Be a Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge Favorite...Gary Russell Jr.'s a Better, More Winnable Fight for Gervonta...

And Besides Everything REED's Stated, Gervonta Has FAT Potential...He's THE Thickest 130 Pounder REED's EVER Seen and the Motherfucker Looks Like He Blows Up to 150's-160's, Between Fights...

Loma will kill that bum Davis and send him to the ER.... right before Davis lands in the morgue.

Davis is much better than Broner was, he hasn't dropped many rounds where as AB had arguably already lost a couple of fights by this point.

Saying that, I agree that he will never be on Loma's level.

    In for a quick nibble.
If you can just sort of, sort of just, you know, :emoji_worried: ..I suppose if Lomachenko can stop people without throwing a punch, it makes him better than Willie Pep...and for 3 fights now, he's done exactly that. Lil' Goro figurine in the myth matches forum if you want it.

Loma won clear against little Gary Russel, but it was far from an uncompetitive whitewash. I haven't seen much from Davis, but from the little I saw (and what I read), he's a better, bigger version of Russel. If that,s indeed the case, I don't think he is without a chance against Loma (don't think he would actually win though)

Far from an impressive white wash? Russell didn't win a goddamn round, how was it not impressive?

And Loma has gotten BETTER since the Russell fight.. it was only his 3rd fight for Christ sake.

I think Davis is a bigger challenge than Russell because unlike Gary... Gervonta has fight ending power.

BUT... skill and talent wise he can't compete with Loma.

Garcia def has size on Loma. Wow. Mere fact this video was taken gives me hope. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe this fight can happen.
