Again....if not for size difference I'd go with Rigo without a shadow of a doubt. As it is...Loma may win. I don't know which way I'll b leaning when it's time for final predictions. Great matchup though

I didn't mean the styles were similar just the fact Rigs is more just focused offensively while Loma is more balanced. Also Loma may idolize Roy but he fights nothing like him. As for Rigo maybe I'm wrong but he never seems to do much defensively that I recall other than just standing there and using his offense as his defense.

You've likely seen more of both guys than I have so maybe I'm a bit off here in my break down.

Yeah, you're pretty off on your Rigo breakdown. The guy is a top 10 all time defensive great. You made his defense sound like Miguel Cotto's.

We will find out how good his defense is on December 9.

Lomachenko looks to be a mini-calzaghe with more polish. Rigondeaux is kinda a southpaw Bernard Hopkins with more power.

They are honestly the weirdest comparisons I've ever seen :D

If anything it's reverse - Lomachenko is fast, unorthodox, unpredictable, with excellent reactions and athleticism. And Gondo is a classic boxer, cautious, with amazing defense.

Gondo having below average defense? WTF!?!?!?!?!?! :D He clearly has the best defense in the world, now that Floyd has retired, better than Lomachenko for sure. Lomachenko has better offense, is bigger, and younger, so should win - but it's still a very interesting fight.

LOL, you're as off base as lb4lb :D

Gondo could be compared to Bernard I guess, but Lomachenko is not a slappy volume puncher in the slightest :D

He's a crisp, concise, aggressive boxer puncher with excellent speed and movement. He's not too similar to anyone tbh.

Rigondeaux reminds me of arturo gatti. but faster, with better defense, power, reflexes, craftiness and movement.

I said he was like Calzaghe...WITH MORE POLISH, you seemed to miss that part. In other words he's not a slapper and throws decent crisp punches. The similarity to JC though is in the volume punching and the great footwork.

I don't really see the comparison other than them being southpaws. I don't consider Lomachenko a volume puncher at all. He's an aggressive boxer that picks his shots very well, and lures people into shots. He's just more active than your average "boxer" I guess.

Loma's far more talented than the coke head slapper who waited til Jones was laying in the grave before he fought him.

Loma style is not simila to Calz at all. Bad comparaison.

Rigo is indeed a bit like a southpaw Bhop though

Rigo is nothing like B-Hop either. NOTHING at all! You guys have been watching OLD Hopkins for far too long. PRIME Hopkins kept a very high workrate.

Rigo's not a high workrate guy, but he IS lethal puncher. Hopkins never had lethal power.

seems about right to me. he's going up 2 divisions and everyone he fights at 122lbs is already bigger than him. plus he's old as fuck and inactive

I guess, but dunno, I was expecting more like 2 to 1. Gondo might be old and small, but he's going to be clearly the best fighter of Lomachenko's career.

No shame in that, Calzaghe was one of a kind.

Calazaghe was very good, but Loma is definitely moe talented.

Can't see Rigo winning this fight. He's too small, and the speed and youth of Lomachenko will expose how much he's slowed down. Especially at the higher weight.

That's why I said a southpaw Hopkins WITH POWER.

I see Hopkins in his balance and poise and the fact hat he doesn't waste punches and is always in position.

As for the calzaghe comparison to Lomachenko....I know fightbeaters HATE Calzaghe but y'all need to get over it and realize that although he had an ugly punching style, he had tremendous footwork; constantly turning his opponent and putting them out of position while always being in position to land his punches. Lomachenko is like that.

Actually that is a fair point. The constant turning and outmaneuvering opponents is something Slappy Joe did too. Stylistically pretty different apart from that one facet though.

Keep Loma honest with his counters, outthink him, and outbox him.

In reality, I think it'll be a close fight, and one that Rigo will deserve to win... but there's about a 98% chance that if the fight is close, Loma will get the Canelo treatment.

Lomachenko's REACTION to that 1st Clean Rigondeaux Counter Will Determine the Outcome of this Fight...

If His Chin is Anywhere Near the Level of Golovkin's, it's Gonna Be a Loooooooooooooong Night for Rigondeaux...But Rigondeaux's a Sharp, Swift, Accurate Puncher...

Will Be Interesting to See the Weight Rigondeaux Elects to Come in @, and How Much POP His Punches Carry...
