If Hagler was 168ish and could still have even 3/4 of his effectiveness, I think he takes Johnson by surviving Johnson's inevitable early rounds intensity and then coming on in the second frame... Johnson was a good fighter and a good puncher but his stamina was shaky and he could be hurt... but he was hurt/stopped, at his peak, only by BIG TIME Lt.Heavy punchers like Saad, Spinks and EMM... I don't see Marvelous Marvin having that kind of punch at 175... if he gets a stoppage, it would be on accumulation VERY late... Gun to my head? Hagler by decision

Sounds about right. Johnson was a beast in the early rounds, but then would start to fade. I like Hagler to get past the early rounds and wear Johnson down to the get the win.

Hagler by far the better fighter but I think size would have told and MJ would walk through MH after five or six rounds where Hagler boxed well. Johnson was game, strong and a world class southpaw boxer-puncher, who wore you down with volume and strength. I don't think Hagler could hurt him, so Johnson's sometimes weak chin isn't a factor and MJ would have got very brave and been all over Hagler when he sensed he couldn't be hurt. Johnson breaks him down in the second half of the fight and Hagler is pulled out by his corner after 10 rounds.
