The problem with Floyd and his fans is that they can’t comprehend how him being unbeaten doesn’t equate to being the GOAT, when being the greatest is about so much more than just numbers. Floyd doesn’t have one victory that equates to the greatness of Ali’s win over Foreman. Not one. Leonard’s victory over Hearns is better than anything Floyd has done in his career. Floyd is too narcissistic to look beyond his own self. And his fans are the same.

I don’t care if he thinks he’s the best ever, but it annoys me when casuals actually buy into that shit because of his record and branding. No knowledgeable boxing historian would deny that Floyd is an ATG, but they also wouldn’t take him a a serious candidate to being the #1 fighter ever. They also aren’t knowledgeable enough about boxing to know the fact that other champions have retired undefeated. If Floyd is the greatest ever because he retired 50-0, then where does Rocky Marciano rank all time at HW and p4p? What about Joe Calzaghe and Ricardo Lopez? Then they aren’t far behind either.

I agree with both. He's not top 5, but yeah definitely top 20. I also agree he's live to beat any lightweight. I would make him a clear underdog against Duran and Whitaker at 135, but it'd be foolish to say Floyd has zero chance against them. He's got a better chance against Whitaker tho. Not sure who I'd pick in a Floyd vs JCC match up. I can see a case for either guy.
Floyd imo is in the same tier of greatness as Roy. Both are in my top 20. I think both are below the likes of Leonard, Duran, and Ali in terms of greatness. Roy in his prime was just as GOOD as Leonard/Duran/Ali, but unfortunately he didn't quite reach them in greatness.
