@ Least Canelo KO'ed Khan and Smith...He COULD Have Finished Chavez Jr Too, Had he Went For It...

Tonight, Canelo was More BUSINESS MAN Than Fighter, Which is Particularly Shitty Given the Significance of this Weekend in Mexican Culture...

This Fight was a DISGRACE to Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, the Marquez Brothers, Chavez Sr., Ruben Olivares, Carlos Zarate and the Countless Other Mexican Warriors that Laid it On the Line EVERY Outing...

Even Fernando Vargas would have gone down on his shield. Not these two.

At least the undercard had some decent action. This was disgraceful even for a sparring session.

Canelo vs Triple G is a real fight, now. About time it got made

DAnny Jacobs probably played a bigger part in the GGG fight being made than anybody else.

Chávez (50-3-1, 32 KOs), a former middleweight titleholder who lost his belt to Sergio Martínez five years ago, was so drained at Friday’s weigh-in that he looked ready to pass out, prompting fears he might come out even slower due to the weight cut. Those fears, it turned out, had merit. The son of the greatest Mexican fighter ever labored to produce anything resembling an offense and Canelo, who dictated the distance, got off first time and again. By the end of the third round, a trickle of blood ran from his nose.

Still pissed that Canelo didn't go through the gears to get rid of Chumpez inside the distance.

Necessity is the mother of all invention, I suppose. Perhaps it was some mutual respect thing, no threat, no need to upset other Mexicans, job was done, just see it out.

I don;t know what the US telecasts were showing, but at the end of the 2nd round, they cut to JC Sr at ringside, and sat behind him was MAB with a look of total and utter disinterest on his face

That what it seems like and the fact that GGG was there all suited and booted, coming out to the GGG-Canelo promo video, it was all perfectly scripted and beautifully acted.

Steve Bunce says that Chavez Jr doesn't want to box and is being forced into it by the old man. There could be something in that.He just stood there eating shots, all night. It was boring crap, to be honest, and Alvarez didn't seem to mind just going through the gears either.

That wouldn't shock me. It really was like Canelo was on the heavy bag. I'm still fuming because I lost money on it. I was roaring at the TV for Canelo to go to the body more.

In fairness to Chavez Jr, his one stoppage loss was at 175, so he would have really had to be drained to lose by KO to Alvarez whom I don't rate as a one-hitter or a KO artist at all. Chavez wasn't throwing enough to leave great openings or deplete his own energy.

    Alternative facts:

Chavez was robbed. I had him winning AT LEAST 8 rounds.

    The whole system is rigged.

    I'm upset bigly.

Chavez winning would have been youge.

Chavez Jr was a very decent fighter. I agree that the version you refer to was better than the current version and would have made for an interesting fight against Canelo.

I didn't order this fight because it didn't seem likely Chavez would be at his best. Only being a lot bigger made it a little interesting. Plus, the undercard was pure shit. Both Canelo and Chavez Jr have always seemed like natural fighters to me, not hype jobs. Canelo just happens to be better and isn't on the way down.

In a BUSINESS Sense, Canelo-Triple G was Delayed Because Team Golovkin OVERestimated Gennady's Worth, As a Legit DRAW...

Instead of ACCEPTING Whatever Terms Canelo Brought to the Table, Team Triple G GAMBLED On Golovkin Becoming "THAT Dude", In a PPV Sense...But That DIDN'T Happen...

Now, It IS What it IS...

    Laugh it Up, Fanboy...

If Triple G Accepted the Catchweight, He'd Have ALREADY Fought Canelo By Now...

Instead, He OVERestimated His Worth as a Draw....But Hey, @ Least He's STILL Got That MSG Merchandising Record, Right???

You're the guy who said he shoulda bypassed this MAJOR opportunity, the biggest fight in boxing to move up and fight who:D? Dirrell or some other pbc scrub

Now he shoulda took the fight at a Catchweight? Was it a money thing or a weight issue? Get the story straight

Pretty much everyone in the game realizes it was up to alvarez and delahoya when the fight would happen. Now the guy looked more vulnerable than previously, it is happening

furthermore we dont know the terms that golovkins camps agreed to. but i can guarantee you its not a 15 million dollar flat fee.

skeletor chavez jr has earned 12 million dollars. for a fight that did over 1 million ppvs according to the obese sack of shit who works for ESPN.

golovkin-alvarez will do over 2 milion ppvs

    Huh???...

All Along, REED Said GGG Should've Moved Up to '68 IN LIEU of Hanging Around Facing the Dominic Wade's and Willie Monroe's of the World...

AND, Since GGG was Perfectly Fine Offering a Catchweight to Andre Ward AND Made it Clear he'd Drop All the Way DOWN to '54 for Floyd, REED Thought he Should've Accepted Canelo's Catchweight Demand as Well...

REED's Story Has Yet to Deviate from Being "Straight", Homey...
