Jamie Lee Curtis has a better fucking chance of playing mike Tyson than Jamie Foxx.

Reed has alluded to DeNiro in RB and I see his point, but Deniro was a 20-30 something New Yorker of Italian extraction portraying a 20-30 something Newyorker of Italian extraction.

De Niro also was built like a Middlweight and put on the fat and everything.

 

De Niro is also a little bit better at acting than Jamie Foxx is.

 

They should have got Morgan Freeman to play Tyson

Nobody said he will be de Niro good. Just that it wasn't a terrible choice. He will do better than Smith in Ali in my opinion. He is fantastic at imitating people. And when you see what a breadstick this Thor guy was before bulking up for the role, everybody who thinks Jamie Foxx is too skinny is smoking the wrong shit.

"Skinny" Jamie Foxx...

 

The thing in biographical films is, the actor doesn't actualy have to look like the person, but he has to have the same qualities as the guy he acts.

Will Smith doesn't look much like Ali, but he is tall enough and handsome enough to portray Ali, since a small guy couldn't be the hw champ and an ugly fellow couldn't be a believable media darling.

To me, the main qualities about Tyson is that he has to be average height, muscled, walk and move in athletic manner and have the same kind of empty, menacing look in his eyes. If the actor has that (and to me, Foxx does), he resembles Tyson enough. More important of course is if the person can act well enough, looks only won't help at all. There too, I do trust in Foxx' capabilities

 

Sheer physical menace - the neck especially - is key. Jamie better start jagging yesterday.

 

Still another 40lb odd to go until he's as big as Mike.

 

The movie "Ali" was shit and Will was an even bigger piece of shit. The only good performance was Jeffrey Wright as Howard Bingham. Even Foxx as Bundini was over the top. I won't even get into Jon Voigt as Cosell.

 

I though Ali was OK. Smith did a pretty good job.

I didn't think it was a good movie, and also Smith couldn't play Ali or match his charisma (because nobody can). But he LOOKED good enough for the part, even though he didn't look the same as Ali. That was my point

For Certain, he'll have to BULK UP from the Pic REED Posted, but if Foxx "Only" Added 25-30 CHISELED Pounds, he Could Certainly RESEMBLE the Tyson Bodytype...If he's 20lbs Lighter & an Inch or So Shorter, that WON'T Show Up On-Screen...
