You know, the guys who had the ability to figure ANYBODY out. A few pop into my head. But the number 1 guy for me is Sugar Ray Leonard. Love him or hate him, he had the ability to figure out what style to fight and what weapons to use according to the opponent. Pernell Whitaker is another stand out. At least when he was at his best, and not so much anything after 1994. I'd mention B-Hop, but will never understand how he couldn't adjust to Jermain Taylor. Whom else?
Carlos Ortiz is up there. Guy could literally do it all. Box when he had to. Brawl when he had to. Counterpunch when he had to. Pressure when he had to. He would outbox the brawlers and outbrawl the boxers. Definitely could adjust to any style, cause he defeated every style.
:flag2: Ah yes, Jermain, the stuttering hick, as country as fuck, took away all Hopkins weapons, he outsmarted him, and that's what makes several posters so angry in truth, he beat Hopkins at what many mistakenly believe is his own game.
See, I'm not so sure he outsmarted him... I think he just outworked/outbusied him. He'll never admit it, but I think Hopkins was a little scared of Taylor's power. He just essentially FAILED to let his hands go. My guess is he was caught with something that got his attention and it played a role in how he fought.
