Yes. It's the example I always see in boxing books when they go over the subjectivity of scoring

I still feel like Ike won...espeically when I hear guys scored the last round 10-8 for Oscar to support their margin of victory. That was NOT a 10-8 round.

Oscar had a good 30 - 45 seconds then spent the rest of the round backpedalling because he was punched out.

    yup.

Primarily due to the high profile nature of the fight and Hagler's subsequent retirement in disgust.

Funny...I always thought MAB won two out of the three I just thought the wrong guy won the first and second fights.

MAB clearly won the third in my book.

That's only because the typical English white man (sch as yourself) sees all blacks in their country as Jamaican! :kick:

Worst Ive seen since Lewis-Holyfield I was Casamayor-Cruz. That was simply ASTOUNDING.

The amazing part was some knucklehead from Casamayor's camp had the audacity to complain bitterly in his very next fight about judges robbing his man multiple times.

I took this thread the same way as you, but it's actually about the most contentious decisions. Fights where the scores divided opinion completely down the middle (Hagler-Leonard, Pac-Marquez etc) rather than outright robberies.

Same here...DLH finished strong, but did fuck all in the middle rounds. Ike wasn't doing much, but he was doing more than Oscar, certainly enough to win 7 rounds. Then again, "not much is a lot for Oscar De La Hoya".

The most evenly debated is probably Leonard-Hagler. I get the impression that if you polled 100 people, you'd get like 45 for each guy and 10 scoring it a draw (as I did).

    How about Lewis/Mercer?

Or do too many people have that one scored for Lewis?

I have always had Lennox winning that fight 6-4.... but I am also a huge Lennox fan, I might not be able to look at it objectively

I was going to say this one too, good shout. I'd say that one's pretty evenly split, maybe slightly in favour of Mercer come to think of it.
