Come on, REED. A top notch athlete has options. Whatever athletic attributes you want to attribute to the guys you mentioned, NONE of them could have been pros at anything other than boxing. If you know differently, tell us. And then, focus on some hispanic, white, or other ethnicity guys who have excelled at boxing. The only guy I can think of that could do anything else at the pro level is Mundine.
RJJ is above and away the most athletic boxer in history. He played basketball his entire life, and was at best a college level player. On the flip side, NOBODY who is from a background in another sport, at the professional level, has made an impact in boxing. There is a reason. Athleticism, isn't the end all in boxing, its not even close.
with reed its american athletics or nothing, I mean is there anyone with a more flagrant bias for black american fighters? I just wanna take this opportunity to point out that while RJJ and Mayweather were both relevant, he trashed on Floyd constantly, and now that Floyd is the best black american fighter that doesn't contradict his RJJ agenda, he's on his nuts like the welfare queen he is.
A Topnotch Athlete has Options IN THEIR YOUTH...But @ SOME Point, they Almost ALWAYS Make Choices...Case in Point, LeBron James was an ALL-STATE Tight End in High School, but by his Jr. Year or So, he DROPPED Football Altogether...Obviously, it's Tooooooo LATE for Bron to Pursue it Now, but @ the Time he was 6'7, 245lbs w/a 4.4-4.3 40 yd Dash AND a Vertical Leap of OVER 40 Inch...LeBron James COULD have been a PRO Football Player, he just CHOSE Hoop... Randy Moss EXCELLED @ EVERY Sport he Played; Football, Baseball, Basketball, Track, EVERYTHING...He COULD have Been a PRO @ ANY of those Sports, had he LIMITED himself to just 1....Allen Iverson was an ALL-STATE Options QB in High School AND The State's Best Hooper... U're UNDERESTIMATING the Level of TRUE Athletic Ability Out There....Like Others have Said, Guys would RATHER Get Hit 1nce or 2wice in a Footballl Game than Get hit SEVERAL Times PER Round in a Boxing Match...There's ALWAYS Been a Since of DESPERATION Attached to the Sport of Boxing, which FUELS the Participants... REED:mj:
"Welfare Queen"???::... REED ALREADY KNEW YOU were a Bitch, Jaws, but NOW U've Actually Gotten RACIAL w/REED....NICE!!!...It Must SUCK to Know that a Messageboard Poster OCCUPIES Sooooooooooooooooo Fucking MUCH of YOUR Mental Space, while NOT Giving a Flying Fuck about YOU on the Other End...Unless Calling You a "White Ethiopian" Equates to "Welfare Queen"... Either Way, Hope U're ENJOYING the Ride on REED's BALLSACK...Alert a Stewardess if U have Any Turbulence or Difficulties.... REED::
Jaws' World Does... LITERALLY, Jaws went from BEGGING REED to Make Appearances on his LAME Ass "Debate Forum", to Sending REED COMPLIMENTARY PM's about his Fightbeat Radio Show Appearances, to Going OUT of his Way to SHIT TALK REED @ Every Given Moment... If this were 2002-2005 or So, REED would REALLY Lay into Jaws' PATHETIC Ass, but Like Brother Phonetap, REED has Found that the Whole "Smacktalk" Thing is PLAYED OUT...REED's ALWAYS Been Able to SHOO Jaws' GNATISH Ass Off w/1 or 2 Posts, yet like the Insect that Hasn't Been SQUASHED or SPRAYED to Death (like Jason Voorhees), Jaws Always REsurfaces w/BULLSHIT... Regardless, he's LAME Enough where even a Kinder, Gentler REED can Verbally MANHANDLE that White Ethiopian... REED:kidcool:
since ive taken the approach of not reading transgender lovers, let me summarize. grammar error, insult, genital reference, grammar error, misuse of capitalization, grammar error, genital reference, sarcasm (unwarranted), grammar error, genital reference, self praise, misuse of capitalization, third person talking, genital reference, misplaced icon. Close?
with reed its american athletics or nothing, I mean is there anyone with a more flagrant bias for black american fighters? So When EXACTLY Did U Take On this BULLSHIT "Approach" of Yours???....30 MINUTES Ago???... 4 the Last MONTH or So, REED has ENCOURAGED YOUR Sorry, PUSSIFIED, PIMPLY FACED Ass to IGNORE his Boxing Thoughts & Opinions, Since they Bring Forth Sooooooooo Much ANGST in your IMMATURE, PETULANT, MALNOURISHED Ass.... Even if REED was Brain Matter, he COULDN'T B MORE Up IN YOUR Head.... REED:cheer:
Sinister inhibitions, bubbling to the surface by way of frustration and desperation. Those who have been quietly 'feeling the burn' .. very much deserve it,..and I hope it continues.
I'd go with Hamilton or Prince. :: Seriously, I think Dwight Howard is a good choice to possibly beat Lebron.
blah blah blah...No one ever said there wasn't cross-over with the those sports. The athletic ability needed to excel is obviously more comparable. There should be plenty of examples for boxing if this theory of great heavyweights hiding in the NFL and NBA was true. There aren't.
Just ADMIT that U were FULL of SHIT when U Said This... You don't need to be a top of the barrell athlete to be a good boxer; in fact, there is more evidence to the contrary ...& U & REED Can Move On... REED:hammert:
Yeah, but could Julius Long have ever made an NBA all-star team? I never really got him boxing, why get beat up when a measley 5 year NBA career would have netted him a ton more cash...
i think importance of athleticism has gone from underrated to overrated. guys like frazier were average Joes (pun?) when it came to running, lifting, jumping and were killers in the ring. boxing is much more a timing sport than an actual athletic sport. you can look at beasts in the NBA like LeBron and Dwight Howard and look up their weight lifting statistics and the guys lift less weight squatting and benching than Kostya Tsyzu. strong? yes. inhumanly strong? not at all. NFL on the other hand is a whole different story. i think there are tough athletic guys in all sports that could become good/great boxers...but to suggest that tight ends/forwards are where the heavyweight champions lie is not true IMO. toughness and ability to trade blows in such an intangible it is hard to just give it to any athlete out there because they show toughness on the bball court. different sports.
