Well scratch that for me, they’re not showing Upgrade here on Japan’s Netflix just like they didn’t have The Platform.

Watched that movie Close with the chick from Prometheus. My recommendation is to watch the first five minutes and then turn it off, it sucks.

Also a friend talked me into watching Uncut Gems which he thinks is awesome. It wasn’t terrible but I walked away feeling I was correct with my initial plan to skip it and now I have one less friend.

As with most things/movies, the consensus on it really seems to be a split. I fall on the other side and at the same time I wouldn’t argue it’s a bad movie, it’s just not for me. My main issue is it seemed to be building towards something and never got there. It was almost a what was the point of this film.

Put it this way, Uncut Gems never felt like a story, it felt like I was thrust into a visual of the middle of some random guy’s life right up unitl-SPOILER ALERT- the point that he died. You can’t even tell anyone what this story is about. It was fairly entertaining but I wouldn’t call it good.

After binge watching last night im gonna recind this recommendation, unfortunately....its well cast, art direction is great, the klingon dialogue is great but im 11 episodes in now and its STILL spinal tap to 11 in the drama stakes, every single character is perpetually on the brink of nervous breakdown or possession, there's an existential threat to the federation to thwart every 20 minutes, cheesey stirring spedches left and right.....star trek needs episodes where they go on a quotidian mission to study a pulsar and one of the characters irons out a problem with their parents or something. It needs to breath. Also, the science aspect seems unremittingly daft...they travel a network of intergalactic mushroom roots using the brain of a space bear. Alriiiiighty.

Star Trek is for people who are not quite right. And Sir Patrick Stewart needs to be shot with multiple balls of his own shit.

Netflix has found its niche in producing terrific original shows and documentaries.

Their original movies suck, and probably always will suck.

But their shows/documentaries are good enough to keep their subscription.

The Queen’s Gambit was pretty good. I wanted it to be great like the word of mouth kept rating it at but unfortunately it only clocked in as a good for me.

I think maybe it was the dialogue which I found okay but not as good as I expected. For a short miniseries I put it beneath other better ones such as The Night Of and Chernobyl.

Checked out a couple sci-fi flicks much to my regret.

The Wandering Earth - Chinese film with super cheesy dialogue and English voice overs so horrible it makes the movie literally unwatchable. I actually didn’t really watch this movie as much as I fast forwarded through to get the cliff notes. I guarantee there is nobody on this site who lacks the brain matter required to sit through this so called movie.

Midnight Sky - A slow burn of a movie that starts out well enough but takes a turn for the worse as soon as it starts to heavily focus on the flight crew in space. It wasn’t terrible but bad enough that I don’t recommend it and simultaneously wish I hadn’t bothered.

I’ve been randomly watching episodes from a few different shows that I find enjoyable and I recommend. Young Justice League, Archer, Community, and Modern Family. I also just got back into rewatching The Office. I hadn’t rewatched any of this show since it’s initial starting season and it’s been super easy to get back into and still holds up.

Just watched the new film short Two Distant Strangers. It was okay and worth a watch if you’re trying to kill 30 minutes. It’s one of those movies where the protagonist keeps reliving the same day over and over again and in this case a black kid keeps having a run in with a cop who keeps killing him no matter what he does. Worth a watch.

Watched Outside the Wire today. It wasn’t great but isn’t nearly as bad as the reviews on IMDB that seem to consistently nitpick the film to death. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it but I wouldn’t not recommend it either. It’s got some decent action sequences and at times the story is pretty interesting. I’d say it’s biggest fault is consistency because every positive thing from the dialogue, story to the action can go from good to bad.

Do u use the matrix one?

I tried using the old version 18.9 and I disabled updates and used the crew repo. Works perfectly. The new kodi 19 sucks donkey balls.
