I'm sure swapping out one mediocre QB for another will magically make all their problems with the O-line and lack of weaponry disappear. Just ask the Broncos.

foles is better than dalton. he has proven he is good enough to win a title if he's surrounded with the proper pieces. he got a raw deal last year with the bears. O line in shambles, zero running game, and he had to face all the best defenses on the schedule. trubisky came back when the o line got somewhat solidified and got to play against mostly terrible defenses.

i would have rather the bears put that 10 million they gave dalton toward making an offer for trent williams, to build the o line into a strength rather than a liability.

The 40 hynas gave up alot more than the bears did to move up for fields. You like Lance that much better than fields?

I woulda been furious if they gave up next years first for Mac jones as well

If we had drafted Fields, he would have been projected to start right away. With Lance, he is expected to sit a year, with Jimmy G playing the Alex Smith role in KC.

I prefer not Mac Jones, so Fields or Lance was a wash

Surprising that Fields fell so far. For months, he was projected to be the #2 QB (and thus #2 overall) pick.

i like fields potential. he seems dedicated so hopefully he can get better at making quicker decisions with where to put the ball. his athleticism, toughness and touch on deep passes seem worth taking a shot on

Fields is vegan which means he's a bad motherfucker. I think he'll be a great QB despite the fact that every other Ohio St. QB in the Superbowl era has been SHITE!

    You switched to vegan?

Fields was right up there with Lawrence as the top recruit out of high school and played pretty good against the top teams in the country. Not quite as proven as Watson was when the bears coulda had him, but he showed tremendous toughness and good touch particularly in this last playoff

Another thing I saw pointed out on Twitter for SF to consider if they plan on rolling with garoppolo, Lance just sat out an entire year. You want him sitting out 2 in a row at this stage of his development?

The "Experts" Conspired to SHIT On Fields' Draft Stock...Out of Nowhere, "Some" Suggested Fields Had "Trouble Making Reads", Even Though He Ran Pro Style Offenses Since High School...

What's Worse, These Same "Experts" HYPED UP Mac Jones at the Expense of Justin Fields...

@ Worst, Fields Will Be the 2nd Best QB in this Draft Class, Behind Trevor Lawrence...

yea i dont get it. maybe this kid lance is the real deal but he played against no one. he went to a great situation with a better coach than fields has, better o line and better skill position guys.

fields was the top recruit or second overall recruit comin out of high school. georgia stuck with the incumbent over him, and it was probably a mistake. he transferred and shitted all over clemson. tough kid who i think is more dedicated to football than lawrence is for whatever thats worth.

and the bears got a nice tackle in round 2 who can move people in the running game and should start day one.

Yeah, it was strange how Zach Wilson suddenly came out of nowhere to be a #2 draft prospect.

I think you guys have the wrong idea about what happened to Fields. Everyone knew Lawrence would be #1. And that 2-5 QBs would be close between Fields, Jones, Wilson & Lance. With those four, it comes down to the team's system, coaches, and who fits in where. I heard Wilson had a great performance at either the combine or his NFL day. He impressed scouts with his ability to throw across his body.

When these guys like Kiper & McShay do mock drafts and put him at #2, they're predicting who the Jets think is the best of the remaining QBs. And apparently the 49ers were very impressed with Lance's intelligence. And then you had seven teams that weren't desperate for a QB.

Also, while it's fair to say Fields played in the Big 10, a much better conference than what Wilson or Lance played in, it is also fair to acknowledge that Ohio St has never produced a quarterback that has excelled in the NFL.

So Because Kirk Herbstriet, Terrelle Pryor, Troy Smith and Bobby Hoying were MEH, it was FAIR to Drop Justin Fields in 2021 Mock Drafts???...

    ...and Mike Tomczak.

That's not exactly what I said. I said he was dropped in the mock draft based on tidbits of information about how certain teams were leaning.

But I said if it is fair to make a comment like "Fields played in a power conference and these other two didn't " then it's also fair to acknowledge he played at a school that hasn't produced a successful NFL QB.
