I disagree with both of you. She's not ugly as hell, but she's not particularly good looking either. Just average :D

I thought it was a loss for boxing because the UFC guy didn't get embarrassed. I had my expectations unrealistically high, but I was hoping for better from Mayweather. I thought he still could have embarrassed Conor, chose not to and chose to again take the path of least resistance.

I can't blame him, he's done it his whole career in the ring and he's so good he can get away with it and still win. But it still comes as a huge letdown to me every time he fights.

I hated everything about this fight, i hated that Conor won as many rounds as he did, I hate that Floyd didn't thrash him, I hated the stoppage and I hated that MMA got to leave feeling better about itself.

    Very disappointed.

Absolutely! I am glad to see basically everyone is still here jabbing and kicking at each other like always.

I didn't think this fight was a "joke" or "circus show" or anything - maybe it was a little, but I was genuinely intrigued by this match and ended up being very very very very disappointed in the boxer.

Came here to read what you guys thought about it. As usual - very good stuff. I still wanted Floyd to thrash him worse, without fatigue becoming a factor. I think he still could have if he had taken the risk, but could have should have would have doesn't mean much of anything. What happened, happened.

Hey Hitman, I agree it would have been better if Floyd hadn't carried him or even given up a round to give ammunition to the McNuthuggers - believe it or not one shertard said he thought Conor would have won a decision if he'd managed to hang in there till the end :D

However overall I disagree with you. I don't see how MMA got to leave feeling better about itself when "like I said before" half the MMA community thought Conor would win by KO, and the other half thought Floyd would win but only by running to a decision because he's a "boxing pussy and pillow fisted point fighting bitch". Obviously there were exceptions, but that was the concensus.

The reality was their #1 striker got walked down and beaten up by a 40 year old man 20 pounds lighter, who did it barely even trying, without breaking a sweat. They also now realise that their hero punches like Magginaggi and that even Floyd hits much harder.

After finally watching the fight, my two main questions are:

Why the hell is conor's power so shitty?

Why did the ref seem to save pbf after he was hit with a bodyshot?

You mean at the beginning of round 9...the same round in which Floyd punched him from pillar to post?

He's not a boxer. Elite pro boxers have absurd power, much more than MMA fighters.

Technique and the fact that he doesn't have that much power with boxing gloves on.

I rewatched the fight again in great quality, and it seemed the same tbh.

Only difference is it seemed even more obvious that Floyd was carrying him this time. As soon as he stepped it up, McGregory was done.

Two things about McGregory that exceeded my expectations were the jab as I mentioned before - it wasn't even fast or hard, but it was long and accurate enough that he managed to land it pretty well. And also composure I guess.

Even though he is a patient counter puncher by nature, I kind of thought in the moment - being in with the best fighter of his career by far, in his first ever boxing match - he'd become more wild. It's weird that as a boxer he's a slappy volume puncher, but he still wasn't wild at any point.

Even though Floyd carried him I concede he did better than I expected mainly because I thought he'd look even more bummish and amateurish.

My favourite random comment I've seen for this fight is "One of the most bizarre fight I've ever seen, a small defensive dwarf chasing a giant bum around the ring".

And the best analogy is probably Velbov's Grandmaster Vs Village Champion :D

Yes. After he was given time to recover, he took over the round. Didn't that seem strange to you?

Even in close, connor never really loaded up or put anything into a single punch. Weird.

Lol, Double L already preparing an alternate reality in which Mayweather was gifted the fight. How surprising!

Looked low to to me, and Floyd's reaction was just like a reaction to a low blow.

I don't disagree with that, I just find the suspicion that Mayweather needed any help laughable.

I think there's no question that Floyd carried him, but it didn't do boxing any great harm compared to the Pacquaio fight

Re-watched the fight last night. My final takeway - I'm glad the mainstream enjoyed it so much, but really, the fight was pretty shitty by REAL fight standards.

Conor can't box, and Floyd, tbh, looked pretty damn washed up. Forget Crawford, Spence, or Thurman, I doubt this version of Floyd would even beat Danny Garcia or Shawn Porter.

I don't believe it's a case of Floyd 100% carrying him. Perhaps partially, but partially Conor went 10 simply because Floyd can't pull the trigger the same anymore. He's lucky Conor wasn't a legit world class boxer.

McGregor should definitely go back to UFC, unless he doesn't mind selling his reputation for big money. Any world class or semi-world class guy stops McGregor.
