The result is guaranteed: Evander by unanimous decision every day of the week and twice on Sundays, but I interested in your opinions on how this fight goes down? I would have loved to have seen it. It would have been toe to toe war with Evander landing 4 punches to 1.
you pretty much summed it up... an all-action fight with McCall demonstrating his one outstanding feature- his chin
Holyfield boxes the hell out of the very game McCall and how badly McCall lose depends on which era Holyfield he is facing. The post-cruiser Holyfield 88/89 didn't hit as hard as later in his career and wasn't as physically strong, but threw more punches, with very fast hands and in a strange way may have had a better chance of stopping McCall. Though this Holyfield wouldn't floor McCall it is possible that his sheer pace and multi-punch flurries might be enough for a trigger-happy ref to stop it, although points much more likely after McCall hangs tough and takes one hell of a beating and loses a landslide 119-110. The later Holyfield of the Tyson fights (1996/7) beats McCall up and damages him more with single shots, but though he lands bombs he also takes a few. As McCall's chin stands up to his best shots Evander opts to outbox McCall in the second half of the fight. For a comfortable decision 116-112 with no rematch required. Gibola
If Holyfield was smart, he would approach McCall the way he fought Bowe the second time and bust the Bull up with sharp in-and-out attacks to win about 118-110. However, since Holy was stupid, he would probably slug it out and win 116-112, landing more clean shots
Holyfield wins no matter which way the fight unfolds, but he most likely makes it more difficult than it needs to be.
