So i just finished this series. I found it very entertaining. Kept me engaged the whole ten episodes. But critics are not being so kind, so i recommend not reading the critics reviews and just watch the first few episodes yourself. I am definitely looking forward to season 2.

It was pretty good although it's a very familiar plot. Good acting, although the fact that the main characters are largely unsympathetic makes it hard work sometimes.

Yeah, a couple of episodes in and I like it a lot. It's gritty genre fare. Sort of The Bridge meets Glengarry Glen Ross meets Justified. I like how Jason Bateman underplays his character while everything is falling apart around him. Even when he's contemplating suicide, he's gotta calculate it out first.

Not entirely original, but pretty good at what it's trying to do.

I'm watching the first episode and Bateman's acting is already ruining this for me...people getting wasted and he's acting as if this is horrible bosses....bryan Cranston he's not.

This series looks interesting. I have a light day at work tomorrow, so I'll probably watch the first episode at the office, and if it's compelling, maybe 2.

I'm on Episode 6. It's a quality show, but something seems to be missing that prevents it from being an amazing show. Can't put my finger on what it is. It's good enough to keep my attention for NOW, and I'll finish the first season. I wouldn't be surprised if I lose interest season 2.

It's solid overall, though. Definitely good suspense. I'll provide more feedback when I finish the season.

BTW - sorry to sound anti-fag, but I'm not feeling the whole Brokeback Mountain substory. But in 2017, there's NO SERIES that can exist without some faggotry relationship taking place.

Jason Bateman is not right for the role. The daughter is cute though. Wife is annoying as fuck tho...6/10 id say.

I think Bateman is perfect for the role. In fact, i think this role defines him from here on out.

You crazy....bryan Cranston now there was good acting...bateman...he just doesn't have that emotional depth...he always comes off bothered more so than genuinely scared or pissed or frustrated etc...cranston pulled it off perfectly Bateman doesn't have that range...even when dealing with his cheating wife he acts as if she overcooked the dinner and not betrayed him.....

Nah, it's definitely not Bateman. I think he does an excellent job in the role. I think there's just too many characters and too much going on.

The cartel leader, Del, needs more airtime. He's far more charismatic than any of those rednecks who dominate the show.

The daughter is the LEAST interesting and MOST annoying character in the show and I sincerely hope the cartel kills her.

I agree that Cranston was better in Breaking Bad, and Breaking Bad season 1 was superior to Ozark thus far, but Bateman isn't doing a bad job at all.

I do agree that the wife, Laura Linney, is totally unlikable. She's not Robin Wright as Claire Underwood, who's ruthless and appealing... she's just a nagging/annoying cunt.

THAT'S what's missing IMO... the family, minus Bateman, is unlikable.

We should be rooting AGAINST the cartel offing the family. Instead I find myself hoping that the cartel kills off all of them, minus Bateman.

With a more charismatic/likable family, this could be a great show.

Ya I agree. Too many characters and not enough characters to give a damn about. Quantity over quality. Should cut characters down in half and give them some depth. Instead they're too focused on gay sex scenes.

Yeah, as soon as I saw the black FBI agent in the hotel room ask "Do you wanna do lunch?" I said out loud, "Ahhhh fuck! Don't tell me they're fags! Hereee we go!" But I'm not surprised, the LGBT's cry bloody murder if they don't see representation in every show.

But anyway....Bateman carries the show. Without him, I would have stopped watching already.

Dude is processing. That is what makes him great. He calculates everything and takes it all into consideration.

I have no doubt he'll get his revenge on that annoying cunt. Maybe he does, I haven't finished the season yet.

But back to my earlier point, tooooo many characters too soon.

The first season of any quality show should only have a few central characters, and minimal subplots. As the series progresses, you gradually add more characters.

That's why I LOOVVED season 1 of House of Cards. Before they added all these pointless characters in and ruined the show, it was alllllll about Frank Underwood and his plan to take over the Presidency. A few other central characters, but the focus was always on Spacey.

BOSS, who do you think could play this role better than Bateman?

    Bryan Cranston lol

I'm not saying Bateman is a bad actor Its just that I keep seeing the guy from horrible bosses.....he's kinda too dorky for me....the character needs an edge...he needs to slap his wife or kill someone or something....for me the make or break moment was when the cartel boss offered to throw his wife out the window....i was literally saying yes do it...we have a great show here....and then i saw her stupid ass alive....

Cranston will forever be Walter White, which would make it hard for him to resonate with viewers as the lead in any other suspense drama.

Just like Gandolfini will forever be Tony Soprano, and Michael C Hall will forever be Dexter.

This is a great series and I'm only on episode 4.

Jason Bateman is great in this and the supporting cast is stellar....

Nah. It's merely ok. If breaking bad was a 88 Tyson...this show is 2006 David Tua.
