Pain and Gain Finally watched this film and to settle any doubts it is a comedy/drama and yes, the characters are portrayed as inept scumbags of the shitty kind. Everything I mentioned before is here, but contrary to what I thought the film is more entertaining that my low expectations anticipated. Mark Wahlberg definitely build more muscle for this film and is great as the bodybuilder who was the mastermind of the whole scheme...but that doesn't make him into a smart guy; kudos to Dwayne Johnson as he showed true talent for comedic roles as the dumb ex-convict bodybuilder who tries hard to be a Christian, but continually keeps committing crimes. And Ed Harris is the only sole serious character as the detective who brings the clumsy criminals to their arrests. Finally I need to congratulate Michael Bay for again gifting us male audiences with another yummy babe: Bar Paley, who exudes more sex appeal per frame than Megan Fox as the air head stripper who gets involved with the bad guys just because she is a complete moron. There are certain scenes which are extremely violent and graphic and not for the weak stomachs. 7/10

I found it entertaining but the violence made me cringe especially knowing that it was all basically true. Almost zero comedy factor so I'm not sure how it got billed as comedy. Sortof like watching Americas most wanted or american greed except you see exactly how all the sick shit plays out.

That's funny, you said the same thing about my taste in films. I guess that's what you think of other people's opinions when it doesn't mirror your own. You're my boy and the whole 9 GF, but you got to respect others opinions on films. I can understand saying someone doesn't know what they're talking about when they kill certain films, but I wouldn't say they're opinion on all films sucks.

Their opinions are no better or worse than yours, their just different.

Anyway after hearing about this film I had no interest in it for some reason because I wouldn't even find the time to watch the trailer. I planned to skip it but later the girlfriend wanted to watch it, so then I watched the trailer which didn't really impress me until I found out it was based on a true story. Now I was all in, I just knew it was going to be good. So me and the girlfriend settle down and start watching. About 30 minutes in I'm thinking it's okay but nothing special at all. I look at the girlfriend and she's asleep, so I ask her if she wants to kill it and watch something else. She says yes, and since I'm not exactly enjoying the film myself, I kill it and put on This Is The End. P&G wasn't bad but I got tired of watching a bunch of scenes that didn't seem to be going anywhere, and if it was, it was taking forever to get there.

    Score: Incomplete
