I thought it was interesting that they didn't show the Cotto day-of weight, because frankly he looked like he came into the ring lighter than usual, or at least lighter than he has at times in the past.
I think he could have come in at whatever weight he wanted. Light or heavy, no difference. Just at another level than Gomez. He fought when he wanted to fight in that fight. Came in and got out whenever. I think he will be on his bike early against Margarito, but the latter's REACH advantage will be interesting. But he better not LOOP anything over the top, Cotto will counter him right quick. I'm leaning HEAVY for Cotto right now. I think he will be a notch over Tony in class.
are you laughing at my spelling of Warrior? (Warrier)? These are cotto's thoughts in the pic! how do you know in Cotto's mind when he is fantasizing about Tony if he spells correctly?
The weight mattered if it was indicative of how he was going to fight Gomez. If he purposely came in lighter because the plan was to box and move more, as it seemed it was, then it's interesting to note and it will be something to take note of when he comes in against Margarito.
Margarito is a whole different story. Against Gomez if Cotto sat more on his punches he could have gotten the win much sooner. He will be a lot more CAUTIOUS against Tony, so he might, as you suggest, gain less than 10 pounds overnight to come in lighter, in order to have a more effective movement. I think at this point, Cotto OUTBOXES Margarito.
