Exactly. His whole rep is based on then idea that he was an awful boxer but that's OK because he was invulnerable to harm. Nevermind the fact that he got rocked and dropped on the regular by nobodies.

    R.I.P. Champ:pray:...

Arguably THE Most Consistently Fan Friendly Fighter of All Time...1nce or 2wice a Year, REED'll Kick Back and Dedicate a Weekend to Watching 6 or 7 Pryor Fights, Back to Back to Back...Both Arguello Bouts, Cervantes, Johnson, Hart, Kameda, Blackmore, etc...

Unorthodox as FUCK...Good Power in Both Hands...Good Hand/Footspeed...RIDICULOUS Workrate and Stamina...Underrated Ring IQ...Pryor Lived Life on the Edge and FOUGHT that Way as Well...He was the Dude that PARTIED All Night, Layed Up w/Bitches, then OUTWORKED Everybody in the Gym, the Following Day...

A Very UNIQUE Boxing Talent, if Ever There Was 1...

Rest in Peace Aaron Pryor, You'll Be SORELY Missed...

    CRAZY Fight...

Nobody Said Pryor WASN'T Wild and Reckless...But when Faced w/a Technically SOUND Boxer that Could PUNCH, in Arguello, Pryor WASN'T as Reckless...

vs. Kameda, it Looked to REED Like Pryor was Trying to INTIMIDATE Some Asian Guy he Probably NEVER Heard Of, w/Tough Guy Body Language and OVERT Aggression...And it Got Pryor Knocked On His Ass Early...Let's Not Pretend Pryor was HURT Though...Before Looooooooooooong, He Dusted Himself Off and Beat the Shit Out of Dude...

This is a Must-See Fight, to Get an Idea of WHO Aaron Pryor Was, in REED's Opinion...

Prime Finito Lopez was better than Jr. Welter Arguello. The guys Alvarez beat that you never heard of are demonstrably better and more accomplished than the guys you only know as Pryor opponents, except Cervantes who was at the end of his career like Arguello.

If only Barry McGuigan had the foresight to smoke crack in his prime he'd be a legend in the minds of the few dozen people that remember him too.

lol. When one punch completely freezes you in place to get dropped by the follow up punch you're hurt. The first punch stopped your body from responding and left you in a daze.

When you get dropped and your body hits the canvas first and then your face follows it, you're hurt. Your body was limp and out of your control as you went down.

Johnson was 17-0, 13 KO's and a KRONK Fighter, @ a Time when Pretty Much EVERY Kronk Guy Could Punch...He Was Also a Naturally BIGGER Man...

& Unlike MOST that Pryor Fought, Kronk Fighters Had a Built In FAMILIARITY w/His Style, via Manny Steward and Tommy Hearns...Johnson HURT Pryor as Bad as Anyone Did in his Prime, Dropped him 1nce and Rocked Him Another Time...Again, Pryor Dusted Himself Off, Showed Mid Round IMPROVEMENT in his Head/Upper Body Movement and was Whipping Johnson's Ass by the End of the Round...STOPPED the Motherfucker in the 7th Round of What is Also a MUST-SEE Aaron Pryor Bout...

Ali Got Dropped and Rocked a Handful of Times, Early in his Career...Pernell Whittaker Hit the Deck Here and There Too...It was Pretty Much a GIVEN Tito Trinidad Would Taste the Canvas @ Some Point...Didn't DETRACT from their Overall Greatness Though...

You're putting a lot of caveats on a nobody for Pryors benefit.

And the difference between the guys you named and Pryor is that their whole rep and aura isn't based on the idea that they're invulnerable to punches.

"Prime" Finito Lopez???...Lopez Only Fought a HANDFUL of Times After the Alvarez Fight, and had Reigned Damn Near a DECADE by the Time they Fought...Also, Lopez was NOT the Chocolatito Type, That CARRIED Power Up to Various Other Weight Classes, from Strawweight...

Only in the Mind of THE LONE Rosendo Alvarez Nuthugger Known to Man, was Lopez in his "Prime"...REED Thinks He was @ a COMPARABLE Stage as Arguello from the 1st Pryor Fight...Comparing Arguello to the Version of Pedroza Barry McGuigan Beat is SHAMEFUL, Even by YOUR Biased Standards...

"Guys Alvarez Fought" that REED Never Heard Of???...That's Your PROBLEM Right There, Twerp...You're Like the SNOBBY, Musical ELITIST, Championing Some RARE, Avant-Garde Piece, Only to Find Out it was Basically a POP Tune in a Prior Life...Newsflash, Quite a Few Rosendo Alvarez Fights were BROADCAST to American Audiences, Dude...REED Saw PLENTY of Alvarez on Showtime and/or PPV Undercards...

Sooooo, For All Your ATTEMPTS @ Being the Astute, Wannabe Boxing Elitist, Recalling Blow by Blow Details of Early 90's, Asian vs Nicaraguan Wars You've Watched, Rosendo Alvarez WASN'T Hardly as OBSCURE as You Think He Is...Nor Was he Better than Aaron Pryor, Either...

By YOUR "Rationale", Pryor Must've Had THE Best Recuperative Abilities in Boxing History, Then...Because After Getting Dropped, he Charged RIGHT AT Kameda...Then Proceeded to Beat the Shit Out of Him...

What EXACTLY Did REED Say about Johnson that WASN'T a FACT???...

Johnson WAS 17-0, 13 KO's...He WAS a Kronk Fighter @ a Time when MOST Kronk Fighters Could Punch...Ever Heard of Milt McCrory, Jimmy Paul, Hilmer Kenty or Tommy Hearns???...Those were Johnson's Kronk Contemporaries and THEY Nicknamed Him "Mr. Excitement"...It's Also a FACT Johnson was a Naturally BIGGER Man, as the Link Clearly Illustrates...

"Caveats", REED's Ass...It's FACTUAL Information that YOU Simply Can't Fuck w/....

Pryor DIDN'T Beat Arguello via a Presumption of Being Invulnerable to Punches...

You're over rating Aaron Pryor and talking about snobs and obscure fighters... Think about it. Heck, put your kangol on and go talk about it at the barbershop.

Pryor's career reminds me of Ricky Hatton. He looked exciting but vulnerable from the start. He proved himself against two quality guys who had momentum but were either old and beaten up (Cervantes/Castillo) or just didn't have the pep in their step anymore.

Hatton was put in context, not just by PBF and Pac but by Collazo, Urango, Lazcano etc. Pryor was put in context in most of his defenses.

Clearly he had amazing recuperative abilities. You just saw him get knocked silly by two nobodies and hop right back up.

How CONVENIENT of You to Label the RANKED CONTENDERS Pryor Fought as "Nobodies", Yet PRETEND Rosendo Alvarez Fought Some Historic, Murderer's Row of Diaperweight Opposition, "That we Just Haven't Heard of." When REED Elaborated on DuJuan Johnson for You, You Chalked it Up as "Caveats", Which Suggests You were CLUELESS about Johnson Altogether...

Pryor would really be "ABout Billions" today if he was around, that is for sure.

If he could talk, and was managed right, like "Oh, Hi Larry, great fight, that Bumbendo Canelo is a brave man, I don't want to thank Jesus, I want to thank Bumbendo" then he would be making $100m a pop.

Pryor and Broner Were Both Shit Talking Ohio Natives that Loooooved to Party, but Pryor was All Business in the Gym....It Wasn't Until AFTER the Arguello Fights that Pryor's PREPARATION Suffered.

Conversely, Broner is RENOWN for Taking Short Cuts in the Gym, Which Came Back to BITE him in the Ass, During his Ascension...Pryor Moved from '35 to '40 Because he COULDNT Get Fights...Broner Moved from '35 to '47 Out of Sheer LAZYNESS and ARROGANCE...
