Dam Karl, glad things worked out ok..

I have been in and around similar situations and it can easily turn very ugly, bottles broken on heads etc.. .

I always prefer to hold someone, choke or whatever than strikes cuz I'm afraid if I'd strike I'd get in trouble but out here.. (TX) it's prolly ok..

All these haters here man... I'm just glad it worked out for you..

    Very descriptive story!

I tend to hate security guards, they tend to look for any excuse to wield their power. Not saying that YOU were not justified, from what you said it seemed necessary, but in most cases I wish someone would do a drive by on one of these security guard's asses!

Envy my brother LOK, and jealousy is what it is.
The thing is this; when people live vicariously through the deeds of other people, their response is to type trash like they have been typing here.
Not only me, but when other folks here post up stories of their own boxing or fighting experiences, the jealousy comes through from other posters that are safely hidden behind their computers, and would never even dream about getting into a real fight in the ring or on the street.
Dsimon exposed everyone here as never being in a real street fight by telling me that people that "romanticize" street fighting have never been in a serious street fight, and most likely never will.
There is no code of ethics, no glory, no John Wayne "Pow!" when you hit someone and they go out cold, there is just a struggle for life and death and how far someone wants to take it.
I don't wear a uniform, or carry a badge or a gun, and dealing with jilted boyfriends (or even jilted girlfriends) is just a fact of life if you work at an "Exotic Dancing" establishment.
The jilted, or over possesive girlfriends are actually more volatile than the boyfriends are.
Most guys leave when asked when you tell them you are going to call the police who are close by, but the girls are a different story alltogether, they never leave and require the assistance of the cops as you really can't do anything unless you are being attacked, and it has to be an extreme attack.
I've been kicked, scratched, and punched several times by girlfriends, and have had to call the police and have them escorted from the property, but I will never file charges on them, though.
They most always are arrested for disorderly conduct or public intoxication, anyway.
The bad ones are the "dominant" side of the relationship, and I have run into a few of them that look like they could go a few rounds with George Foreman.
There most often is high drama night after night after closing time, it's just a part of the racket, but we hardly ever have any trouble at all from the customers.
There have been only two instances where the guy got a lap dance and didn't have any money to pay the girl and she threw an ashtray at him, and one other time where a guy got on the stage, that was it.

Meh, I bounced at a club in Kingston for a short while. My shoulder had been dislocated earlier that week and I had to get this guy out of the club. I grabbed him and started heading for the door. The guy bit me on the side of my neck, and the other bouncer at the door just stood there and froze!

So I managed to get him out the door and got him to stop biting my neck by jamming my thumb in his eye. Shit happens.

Then I said, "Fuck this", quit, and never went back. It's not worth getting chump change AND getting chomped! Bouncing sucks!

Karl, why do you have to do these two-bit gigs in low-class joints like River Oak?
It would seem that an accomplished boxing writer, outstanding amateur, sparring bag and Juan Diaz' paid mouthpiece, such as yourself, wouldn't have to resort to low-paying job of security guard at a nudie joint....:dunno:

More like Napoleon Complex on your part.

Who would be envious or jealous that someone gets into fights? That's retarded. But I guess you're too insecure and short to understand.

That's ok. You just keep telling us about your 'fights' and challenging people to travel cross country and fight over an E-Beef, if that's what makes you feel good about yourself.

The pay is really very good bro, and there are some fringe benefits as you can imagine.
I probably won't be there a whole lot longer anyway as the second hand smoke is starting to affect me.
Some nights there are private parties that go on all night, like tonight.
I come in at 10 and get to work until 6 AM.
Club closes at 2 AM, and then the folks do what they do with the girls, I don't get involved in that end, I just stay at the desk in the front letting whoever is supposed to come in and whoever is supposed to leave out and watch tv.
My hand is just numb and skinned up a lot, thanks for asking bro.

You don't get wrist problems from this shit?

That's what I get for not knowing how to turn over a punch, I guess.

Stinger my man, there's something in your story that I don't get. I recall you saying a while back that you were practiced not only in boxing but also in Judo. I would figure that you should not have had any trouble grounding this intoxicated kid and keeping him down since Judo is entirely about takedowns. How did you lose your grip on him and let him up to his feet?

True story ... I was in a fight once with a guy that decided to bite me when I had him in a headlock. We're going back about 20 years ago when biting was really considered a bitch move akin to pulling a guys hair (sorry Karl , not saying it wasn't necessary in your case)

I was pretty high strung back then and it was easy to really piss me off and when I was , it would get real ugly as turning my anger off was much harder than turning it on...

When the guy bit me , it had a maddening affect and I swear I went insane with anger , at which point I went from harmless pushing, punching and headlock type fighting to wanting to crush the guys skull in.

Not to dramatize this or anything , the fight ended with my buds pulling me off him , with me trying to knock all his teeth out with puches to his face while he was on the ground. Knocked two of his teeth out and broke his jaw , needed 12 stitches in my hand to close the gashes from his teeth that I tried to feed him for biting me , he ended up in the hospital and I ended up in jail.

Fortunately he started the fight and there were plenty of witnesses , so I got off with a suspended sentence for assault ... lucky it didn't turn into manslaughter.

IMO Karl is lucky the guy didn't react the same way.

Yeah, two guys got into a fight during a pick up game of basketball, and knowing me, I always need a front row seat.

The tiny dude really laid it onto the big guy. It was like 5'5 165 against 6'2 210. Eventually, the tiny guy was over the big guy pounding him out, and I finally decided to break it up. I pull the little guy off him, and I see the big dude sit up, take one chomp that missed...It didn't register to me what he was doing. He takes another bite and gets him square into his right buttcheek. I make the stupid reaction to pull the little guy away, which only made things worse as the big guy was clamped in.

The little guy screams, the big guy gets up and starts talking shit. The little guy looks at me holding him back with puppy dog eyes like a kid wanting a new toy. So I step aside and gave him a look as if to say, "He deserves it now," and proceed to watch this little dude pummel and eventually KO this big dude right on center court.

One of only two very glorious moments I've seen in a street fight.

I've never seen such poise, skill, and ability to take a punch in a street fight.

The little dude is a friend, and he was trained in some sort of karate with a very respectable belt level before ankle and knee problems forced him to stop.

I can certainly give you a few examples of "fights" I lost , that didn't have any biting involved in them.

It's one thing doing it in a controlled gym situation, another thing entirely on doing it when it is for real.
The kid was as strong as a damn bull, and big.
I did put him down and held him there for several minutes.
When you have the head you have control and I had him locked up pretty good eventually.
I know of plenty of guys, damn good tournament fighters who have been seriously fucked up in the street, one of them, black belt Jack Minshew was killed about 20 years or so in Galveston by a guy with a blade.
It is two different worlds, just like being a boxer in a streetfight is.

What's with you guys and headlocks? That's like the worst move to use in a fight.

Biting is a sissy move, but using a headlock is just dumb, especially in a standing position. If you can't fight yourself out of a headlock, you shouldn't be getting into fights in the first place.

Is it? In the street fights I've been unfortunate enough to get involved in, ANYTHING at all is fair game. Finesse and 'rules' count for shit- if I have to bite some guy(s) who is trying to kick the fuck out of me because it was the best option available to me at the time, then I would do it without qualm or hesitation.

I agree with everything else though- headlocks are the bastion of school children and people performing 'noogies'.

I have had my ass kicked before and i have studied Martial arts since i was 5. Everyone gets their ass kicked one time or another. Its part of life. And i dont envy people who have been in street fights. Whats great about that? I hated every fight i was in except competitions. I dont fear the loud talkers. They cant do shit. And the sad part about all of this Karl is that even with all your stories and all your loud talking, the only thing that comes to my mind about you is that you bit some dude's boobie.
