MOS numbers are just fine. The movie hasnt even been released is many countries. You are talking about a franchise that has a horrible track record and people were very skeptical about it. Many people automatically assumed it would suck, since there hasnt been a good superman movie since the early 80s. The next movie will have probably an even bigger budget and will do even better at the box office.

Again, MOS was 10x better than Iron Man 3.

OTT po faced shite. Not sure I can even sit through all of this. If it doesn't get better in the next 10 minutes I'm throwing in the towel. Superman's maw was hot for the 60 seconds she was on - about the only thing to commend it so far

Huh? Are you sure you were watching the right film? maybe you were watching a poor quality camcorder version online. This movie needs to be watched on a BIG SCREEN to be fully appreciated.

I am sure that the film will grow more in people's hearts once its released on blu-ray, etc and will create a better chance for a sequel. No one is arguing that is better than Ironman 3...or Ironman 2!

There's no such thing as a good film that needs to be seen in the cinema to be enjoyed. The film was utter jobby

That is easy, after the planet was destroyed, there was no longer control over their punishment, so they were freed. They went to the outerposts where they found those spaceships.

    Which sentence?

There are definitely films that translate better on the big screen - mindless films generally. Cloverfield was one. But actual good films work either way.

Your assessment is correct: I did snooze a couple of times watching MOS, but it was that I was very tired, not because of the film not being entertaining. I rewatched it again (bootleg) and saw that scene that I missed the first time.

Classic films like 2001: A Space Odyssey & Close Encounters of the Third Kind play better on a big screen. The mothership appeareance in CE3K produced awe & gasps in the audiences at the movie theater while the pound cake size version in a tv screen didn't produced any kind of reactions except for 'pretty ship'.

2001 is a good film on a small screen as well

Hut is 100% correct... if a film HAS TO be seen on a big screen to be enjoyed, it is because the film is SHITE, long on gimmick visuals, short on substance

I think it's better seeing any film at the cinema but a big screen doesn't make a kaka film like MOS good im afraid! The avengers was even worse. Oh sweet lord was that film shite.

If you couldn't find Man of Steel or The Avengers even mildly entertaining then simply you don't like superhero movies. Don't bother watching that genre.

I like ones that aren't shit. I really liked all the recent batman films. There have been others i enjoyed on a throw away level....superman returns, iron man, the second spiderman, x men. One's that aren't just build ups to 60 minute fight scenes with 3 explosions per minute

Man of Steel has made $271 million at the box office and is heading towards $300 million, making it a big box office succes. Together with international earnings I predict the movie will make around $800 million.

I saw it in the theater, and honestly didn't enjoy it. I'll add that I've never been a Superman fan, though.. It was boring IMO and waaaaaay too long. I enjoyed The Avengers much better.

the movie was ok, nothing too special

the first hour was pretty boring...the action is good, that actor playing superman looked very similar to christopher reeves at times

Off prediction: the movie ended its run with $291 million domestically and $662.8 million worldwide. That said, I predict that its sequel will easily surpass your prediction for the first one.

Just rewatched Man of Steel again in 3D. It is a spectacular movie and I like the movie better each time I rewatch it. The action scenes in the second part of the movie are among the best ever.

This movie is awesome. One of the best superhero movies ever and to me, the best Superman film.

Just bought it and watched it again. Gets better and better. Kal El had no choice to do what he did at the end.

REED Finally Got Around to Seeing this...

VERY Good Movie...BETTER than Expected...This is the Most FLAWED OnScreen Superman there's Ever Been & that's a GOOD Thing...He's Also the Most Visually APPROPRIATE Superman there's Ever Been...Even Shirtless, Dude is RIPPED & IMPOSING...REED Actually ANTICIPATES the Direction they Take the Character In...

Cool to See Top Flite Actors like Crowe, Costner and Fishburne in a Superhero Flick...Mildly Disappointing Diane Lane was in the Flick WITHOUT Showing Off her JUGS Though...

Like Some of Ya'll have Said, the Latter Portion of the Movie had a Bit Toooooooooooo Much Destruction...New York, Gotham, Metropolis or Wherever they were Supposed to Be was COMPLETELY Destroyed...Superman & Zod Wrecked just about EVERY Downtown Building Imaginable, to the Point where it Got a BIT Over the Top & Tiresome...

Still a VERY Good Movie & a FRESH Take on an Otherwise OLD, CORNY Character...Again, Can't Wait to See the DIRECTION this Superman is Taken In...

Maybe so, but it would be an even fresher take on the superman story. And we know crowe can deliver. Hell you can even have Michael Shannon back
