It's universal consensus that Duran is the Latin fighter GOAT. Rather than do another top 5, just a simple question, who comes in as the second greatest?

I think the usual response is Monzon, and Monzon would be my personally #2.

But you also have an argument for Arguello, Ortiz, Jofre, Chavez, Gavilan, Sanchez, Olivares, ect..

I'd have Ortiz and Gavilan slightly above Monzon. Picking between those two is horrible but if forced, I'd take Ortiz.

    If I re-made my top 5 now, I think I would have Monzon 2, Gavilan 3, Ortiz 4, Arguello 5.

On a more serious note, where would you rank the nb 2 latino on a best ever list. Probably not making the top10, but does he make the top20?

I'm a huge Gomez fan, but there is no way in Hell he is the 2nd greatest Latin fighter. He can make a top 10, but certainly not #2.

Probably would have him in the top 25 area, but i can see an argument for your rsnking. Rather surprising considering all the talents from that part of the world. Guess it shows that that the us really dominate the sport historically

I'm not including my opinions on their ability in this, just their achievements. Otherwise Roy Jones would be right near the top. And McGovern wouldn't be.

Monzon had guys beat up on Tony Mundine in sparring so he could beat Mundine easier himself.
