I recently tried out a muay thai class, and besides getting dead tired after about 15 minutes, the most embarrassing part was not knowing how to skip rope properly. I was all over the place, not able to do more than 3-4 skips in a row. Do you guys have any tips or know where I can watch some instructional videos? I am pathetic, I know...
probably not what you wanna hear but.. .Keep at it I remember one of the first times I tried and was not that good at it.. now I can skip with the best of them
Grease the groove, dude. Do it for 1 minute everyday for a week. Then make it 2 minutes a day for the next week. And so on, and so on. You can vary the amount of time you increase it by, but at the end you will skip a lot better and for much longer.
only tip i can give is when your skipping with alternating feet be sure to lift your knees forward and up and dont bring your feet backward at all. For the longest time i couldn't alternate step skip and was hopping up and down like a fucking pre school school girl before i could work out why. other than that just practice, you'll pick it up quickly
It's normal, everyone starts out like that. Should be some people in your class who can't either :dunno:
