I think Korobov is an excellent fighter, but he is not a GGG matchup right now. He needs a signature win in order to sell such a fight. Had he beaten Quillin impressively, he'd have that win.

GGG just weighed 159. He doesn't need to chase fights at 168. Guys in his position (champ, HBO) always have options. Unifications, mandatories (to keep belt), undefeateds, name fighters...that's my preferred order, with the first 3 being a lot more preferable than the 4th.

    Nah....

Granted, 95-98% of Current Middleweights Want NO Drama w/GGG...But @ the Same Time, REED Bets Only 45% (Or FEWER) of Current Super Middleweights PASS on a Reasonable Offer to Face Him...

To LITERALLY Say "NOBODY Wants to Face Him" HASN'T Been Illustrated, as Others have Stated in this Thread...

How Many of those Guys LACKED Even 1 SIGNATURE Win, 6 Months Shy of their 33rd Birthday???...

If Golovkin were 25, 27 or Even 30, Sure, He Could MILK the Hell Out of Some Mandatory Defenses & Whatnot...But Dude's Age All But DEMANDS a More Aggressive Level of Opponent Selection, Even if it Means Moving Up to '68...

GGG's Time is NOW, Not 2-3 Years from Now, Necessarily...

who are these super middleweights he should be facing reed? froch and chavez jr are the money guys who it makes sense for him to face IF he is gonna jump 8 lbs. other than them who would he fight that would make him more money than he's been getting his past few fights?

He would make more money fighting Arthur Abraham than fighting Rubio, that's for sure.

    That's just It;

If it's ONLY about Money w/GGG, then YOU & The Rest of his Fans SHOULDN'T Bitch & Moan about the Criticism RIGHTFULLY Directed Towards his Matchmaking...STOP Saying "Nobody Will Fight Him", if it's Really JUST about Money....

Moving Beyond That, SURELY HBO Would Pay a Similar Purse to What Golovkin's Been Receiving, to Face the Likes of Sakio Bika, Bryan Vera or Either Dirrell Brother???...& SURELY GGG Could Make a Hefty Sum Fighting the Likes of Groves, DeGale, Stiglietz or Abraham In Europe, w/or w/Out HBO...

& Despite "Talks" of Andre Ward Being "Retired", that's STILL a Bout HBO Would OVERPAY For (So SPARE REED Any & All Nonsense about the Fight Being Meaningless Due to Ward's LACK of Drawing Power, Please)....

That's like 8-9 Names Right There...REED Would Bet Anything MORE than Half of those Names Would ACCEPT a Genuine Offer to Face Golovkin...It's As if You GGG Nuthuggers DON'T Want to See him Get a SIGNATURE Win, or Something...

reed why the fuck would golovkin go up in weight to take harder fights for the same amount of money hes getting now? when he can easily make the 160lb limit? are you seriously suggesting this, as a roy jones jr fan?

bika is out since he's haymon. obviously golovkin will not be facing andre dirrell. you would be satisfied if he fought vera next? i would think you'd lump the guy in with the rest of the also rans golovkin has smashed lately. anthony dirrell is an interesting opponent, and one i wouldnt be opposed to seeing against golovkin. i have never seen stieglitz but i certainly dont care to see golovkin agianst the rest of the euro trash you mentioned.

furthermore, i dont think you realize how big a star golovkin is about to become. he is on the brink of being a guy who pulls in 15,000 plus people on both coasts. the guy is universally loved among boxing fans who are paying customers.

You Damn Right REED's Suggesting it, NOT "As a Roy Jones Jr. Fan", But REED Certainly WON'T Run from it in That Regard Either, Since You Brought it Up....

AGAIN, GGG's Now 30-31 Bouts Deeeeeeeeeeeep...By that Point of Roy's Career, he'd ALREADY Faced Hopkins AND Toney...If You DARE Try to Play the Ammy Card, Thinking it FAVORS GGG, REED'll SHIT on that By Noting Roy's Ammy Bouts w/the Likes of McClellan, Woodhall, Liles, Tarver, etc...

Soooo, After Roy Beat Toney (a Win BIGGER than the Sum of GGG's 4-5 Best, To Date), he Languished @ '68, his NATURAL Weight Class, for a Minute...But Before Looooooooooooong, he was CRITICIZED for the LACK of Opposition in the Division & What Did Roy Do???...He MOVEDthefuckUP 7 Lbs, That's What...GIVING AWAY Size, 9 Times Out of 10, for the REMAINDER of his Career...This from a Guy who BEGAN his Career @ '54 & WON his 1st World Title @ '60...

Why EXACTLY are YOU Bringing Roy Into This???...Not 1nce has REED Harped on Golovkin w/Roy in Mind, Yet if YOU Want to Bring RJ into this Argument, Have @ It....It's Certainly NOT Helping Your Case...

Compared to GGG, Roy Jumped Through Hoops & Did EVERYTHING he Possibly Could to Secure a LASTING Legacy AND Make Money...Bringing Roy Jones Into a GGG Debate ISN'T Good for Golovkin, Homey...

because jones jr wasnt going out of his way to face tougher opponents for the same amount of money HBO was paying him for the easier opponents he ended up facing.

If You Don't Realize Roy Jones Faced an INFINITESIMALLY Better Crop of Opposition than GGG Has, (@ a YOUNGER Age & in FEWER Fights, No Less) You Simply Don't Know as Much about Boxing as REED's Given you Credit For, Over the Years...

Roy Jones Faced Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay TOUGHER Foes than GGG's Dared To...& REED Says that Fully AWARE of the Fact Roy Left Some Stones Unturned...There's Literally NO Comparison Here, Dude...GGG Has Yet to Even APPROACH a Stone Worthy of Turning...

I'm not understanding how Jones is dragged into this. He faced Hopkins in his 22nd pro bout. By his 22nd pro bout GGG was coming off a win against Kassim Ouma.

Hell, Lomenchenko has had what...four or five fights TOTAL and he's faced better competition than GGG. His LOSS to Salido shits on anything GGG has done. At least in Gary Russell he faced a prospect.

Lastly, GGG's long amateur career can't be used as an excuse in light of the ambition Lomenchenko has shown.

I'm not knocking jones jr. He did what was smart. K2 is moving golovkin correctly and it will pay off. The game is starving for an attraction and he's on the brink. You'd be foolish as his manager to move him up 8lbs when he can still comfortably make middle. The BIG money fight is vs alvarez or cotto. Moving up Is giving up on that

Or Even Rigondeaux, who's OLDER than GGG, if REED's Not Mistaken, Has Considerably FEWER Pro Fights, yet has Faced a HIGHER Level of Opposition, Undoubtedly...

Sure You were Knocking Him, but "As a Jones Fan", REED is QUITE Comfortable Expecting MUCH More than we've Gotten from GGG, in Regards to his Opposition...

There's NO Guarantee Golovkin Will Ever GET a Fight w/Cotto or Canelo...Hell, has Canelo Officially Moved UP to 160, Yet???...When a Fighter has a SIGNATURE Win or 2, Sure, there Comes a Moment where he MILKS Paydays vs. LESS than Stellar Competition...

But for the UMPTEENTH Time, GGG HASN'T Faced a Single Guy to Catapult him to THAT Level....The Level of GGG Ejaculation this Site Endures is VERY Premature....

I'd be very interested in a quillen or Koborev fight. Why can't those be made? Ggg? Hbo? K2?

If Quillen won't fight Korborov he won't fight GGG. Quillen is counting on a fight with Danny Jacobs.

Also, I couldn't find video of Golovkin vs Koborev but I know GGG beat him in the amateurs.

Don't be surprised if Canelo asks for GGG to drop down to 156 to secure a fight with him. Afterall, it's Golden Boy we're talking about here. This fight is a pipe dream for GGG.

He dropped down to 152 to fight floyd
    Hopkins 157 to fight Oscar
    Cotto 145 to fight Pacquiao

wouldn't be unprecented. Didn't GGG say he'd fight at 154 to get a match with floyd?

168 sucks too. ward's not fighting any time soon and froch isn't well known in the states, at least not to a point that would make GGG more famous here than he already is. he might as well keep fighting stiffs on hbo and get paid. if alvarez and cotto won't fight him, then that's not his fault.

I'm afraid we might have another Calzaghe in the making. Retiring undefeated without being challenged much.
