So a Bond movie is no better than its spoof imitator?

    SPECTRE

I went in thiniking I wouldn't like this: I didn't rate Quantum Of Solace so much and absolutely hated Skyfall.
I came out of this movie wanting to go back in again and watch again.

    Positives:
+ total return to how a traditional Bond movie was made:
    + big, over-the-top set-pieces
+ massive stunts, blowing shit up - big-time, (you can add up where the $US300 million now went)
+ great car-chases, awesome fight scenes (on a train - always a classic)
+ few gadgets here and there
    + powerful, menacing-but-silent henchman
    + typically camp-but-menacing main-villain with world-domination and a nasty streak
    + lots of glam-location stuff
    + no fucking Judi Stench.

    Weak points:
    - Monica Belluci not needed at all
    - superfluous Bond-Girl who's neither that fit or interesting
    - Cristoph Waltz, will always will play the same role in every movie he'll ever be in: one-trick-pony through and through
    - still too many nods to the past
    - a slight feeling that Craig might be laboruing through his role now
    - utterly forgetable theme-song

However, go and watch it - highly recommended - but you might feel a lot differently to how I did, especially if you're a Skyfall fan.

    8/10

Disappointing film. I mean it wasn't terrible...but I didn't leave it feeling satisfied at all.

Y'all musta forgot! Halle bought those boobies, they're fake! Remember she bought those silicon bags right before Swordfish came out I believe. Halle probably wasn't as flat chested as Rosie, and Rosie probably has the better ass while Halle has the better face. If I had to choose I'd probably go with Halle because I can deal with fake boobies or even small ones, but I draw the line at flat chested woman like Rosie.

Spectre just crushed $296,100,000 in less than a week.

Saw it yesterday. TOTALLY agree with you.

Pretty underwhelming to be honest. Had a lot of potential, just all the performances were flat - even the usually brilliant Waltz looked pretty bored in there.

6/10. It's time for Daniel Craig to hang em up.

The only quality Bond film in the Craig franchise was Casino Royale, which was excellent. Everything else from him has been mehhhhhhh.

I want either Idris (not gonna happen), or dare I say..... FASSBENDER, as the new Bond.

Waltz did exactly what Waltz does in ever other movie he's in! :nono:

This movie was far better than Skyfall....tons better than QoS.

However, I agree with you on Casino Royale.

Yeah but let's be clear about waltz. He has been in tons of movies. Only Tarantino as been able to bring out genius and if you listen to waltz and anyone else talk about Tarantino, he tells you exactly how he wants you to act

I haven't seen spectre yet, but skyfall was brilliant. Problem with bond is that it's not so much a spy film anymore. Doesn't get to the heart of being a spy movie. I think the mission impossible movies so the spy thing better. I saw mi-iii again the other fay and forgot how great it was.

QoS from what I remember was shit.

But IMO, this wasn't any better than Skyfall. Maybe a TAD bit better, but there's not much separation.

    Craig's run is up.

This is just my opinion, but since the 90's there's only been two truly GREAT Bond movies - Golden Eye, and Casino Royale.

Well, you'd probably agree that Golden Eye was Brosnan's best Bond movie, and CR was Craig's best. And it just so happens, those movies were their Bond debuts.

We need a new Bond to see a great Bond movie.

I think skyfall was his best. Acting wise and story wise. There is a reason the movie made a billion dollars and the studios went fucking nuts trying to get mendes back.

Box office gold don't translate into greatness: Furious 7 must be a masterpiece since it grossed $1.5 billion. Skyfall had a GREAT trailer, but the film itself wasn't as good in my viewing experience. It put me to sleep and I made the mistake of buying the Blu-ray before watching the film. Anyone interested in buying an almost mint used only once Blu-ray?

Casino Royale was clearly better than Skyfall. Clearly.

Agreed. I dunno what the Hell he's talking about. He's literally THE first person I've heard say Skyfall was better than CR. It sure as Hell was NOT.

    Craig's movies are ranked:

    1. CR

    2. Spectre/Skyfall
    3. Skyfall/Spectre
    4. QoS

    I'd co-sign this.

I feel he'd make for a better Bond than Craig.

Ive watched Skyfall 4 times now....and each time I find it as boring as the last time I watched it.
The reason its almost doubled the next most-successful Bond movie is probably because it's the most un-Bond-like movie of the entire series, hence, it appeals to an audience who tend mot to like typical Bondesque stuff.
