That Ties Into the Car Accident SOMEWHAT, as Well…

Spence Reacted the WAY He Did Because He Thought His FAKE Teeth Fell Out Along w/His Mouth Piece:duck:

Mouth Piece Knocked Out, Lost Focus Thinking His Teeth ALSO Came Out, Then Ugas Drills Him AGAIN…Weird Scenario for Certain…

Another thing that is apparent that X pointed out is that Errol just doesn’t live like a fighter. I don’t know if he was always that way, but he clearly latched on to the club scene, IG life, etc.

Bud on the other hand, clearly lives a fighter’s life, like Hopkins, Trinidad, etc. Probably doesn’t drink, though I could picture him indulging in some sticky icky on occasion.

Apparently Spence grew out that fro to look more like his idol Don King.

    Following up on this:

While James doesn't have a written contract stipulating what he was supposed to get (and he's a complete fuckin idiot for not having one) he DOES have text message proof from EJ on what he was supposed to get.

Moreover, I'm hearing that verbal agreements are binding in Texas, but being that's your state and not mine, I'll defer that to you.

Overall, Derrick might have a case that holds up. The texts Spence sent him look damning for EJ. Or, they at least give James a fighting chance...

This supposedly happened with Hopkins and Fisher, right? My guess is when the numbers start to get really high, and the percentages start to amount to serious wealth, the fighters start to rethink the arrangement.

That's PRECISELY It and the Line of Demarcation is Usually When Fighter's Start HEADLINING PPV's...

When BHop's MONEY Changed, Post Trinidad, His RELATIONSHIP w/Bouie Fisher Started to Change...All of a Sudden, Nazim Richardson Became the Guy, Because He was CHEAPER Than What Bouie's "10%" Amounted To...

Believe it or Not, Freddie Roach Hasn't Worked EVERY SINGLE Pacquaio Corner Since Manny Became a STAR; REED Recalls Buboy Working a Fight or 2, Because He's CHEAPER...

The Spence-DJames Issues Began w/Mikey Garcia, Spence's 1st PPV Headliner...GGG and Abel Sanchez Broke Up When GGG Wanted to Give Abel a FLAT FEE Instead of His agREED Upon 10%, After the Canelo Fights...

REED's of the Belief "10%" THEN is "10%" NOW...But it's Pretty Clear FIGHTER'S View That "10%" Waaaaaaaay Differently Once That PPV Money Comes In...& it's Pretty SORRY, Being Honest..

REED Ain't Sure if TEXTS Hold Up as Binding Agreements in Texas But There's a Good Chance They MIGHT...

In Texas, Common Law Marriage is a BINDING Verbal Agreement Requiring No More Than 2 Consenting Adults Presenting Themselves PUBLICLY as a Married Couple...No Ceremony, No License, No Preacher, No Justice of the Peace, NATHAN...

Minimum 3 Months of PROVEN Shared Occupancy and @ Least 1 Person to CONFIRM Verbal Acknowledgement Between the Couple as "Married" Is ALL That's Required...

Texas is a LITIGIOUS Ass State, So it WOULDN'T Surprise REED @ All if Text Messages Can & WILL Be Used Against You in a Court of Law....

At least spence came into the pro ranks with an Olympic name and his entire career televised

Alot of trainers working with kids won't see a dime for the first 10 or 15 fights of a guys career even if they're successful. What's 10% of a couple thousand amount to hourly when training a fighter for 6 weeks?

Then they finally start to see larger purses and the fighter leaves to a bigger name trainer

Disagreed with you. After a certain point a flat rate is the fairer option. Nobody is paying millions to see the trainer, nor is he the one putting is health on the line. Elite.fighters that command million dollar purses are fairly rare. Good trainers are, if not dime a dozen, much more common

Maybe. But to Neil's point, trainers generally suffer through the period when "percent" is favorable (and feasible) for the fighter but then get denied the upside of this when the dollars grow?

True, you see a trainer like Roach, who makes far more per year than the vast majority of his fighters (and I'm talking about the world class ones specifically) which just doesn't make any sense imo.
There's much more upside for a trainer to be associated with a star fighter than simply his share of the purse (as we can see from James getting a high profile fighter like Garcia which most likely never would have happened without Spence).

But in this case, if Spence agreed to a 10% split, it's pretty fucked up that he's backing on his words with a dude he knows since he s a kid. On the other hand, EJ is claiming the 10% wasn't on the PPV cut, and that when he did give it it was as a bonus ( if true, it's hard to argue James deserved it following the Crawford mismatch).

And This Doesn't Speak to the Financial Investment TRAINERS Make for Fighters in the Position You Speak Of, aka.,, the MAJORITY of Fighters...Training Equipment, Gym Dues, etc...

If a Fighter is BROKE-BROKE @ the Beginning, Something as Basic as a New Mouf' Piece, Gloves, Cups, Boxing Shoes, etc., are Often Provided by the Trainer...Pretty Good Chance the Trainer Isn't Charging that BROKE Ass Fighter a Dime to Train in His Gym Either...

Beyond That, Trainers Wear MANY Hats in Most Cases - Coach, Manager, Friend, Brother, Father Figure, Confidante, Therapist, etc...

It's VERY Common for Fighters to Have Baby Momma Drama and/Or HOUSING Issues & Lean on their Trainers to Make Ends Meet...REED Knows Trainers Who've Allowed Fighters to SLEEP In Their Gyms - To Use Gym Facilities for Daily Hygiene, etc...To Even Spend MONTHS Living with the Trainer and His Family...

Depends on the Situation (Obviously) and IF/WHEN the 10%/Flat Fee was Discussed, in REED's Opinion...In THEORY, People are "Paying Millions" to See the Trainer's PRODUCT, Are They Not???:Dont:

If All That Was EVER agREED Upon was "10%", Verbally or Otherwise, That Should Be Honored...But AFTER the Fact (AFTER the Fighter's "Made It") Changes to the agREED Upon "10%" is Bullshit...

Yep, it's Impossible to QUANTIFY a Trainer's "Investment" in Said Fighter...
