Would be a shame if he did. He's a good kid and has talent. The fight with Felix will decide his fate.
Spence is a fantastic body puncher but let's be fair here, Loma doesn't put a foot wrong in there. He's technically as sound as it gets. Nothing at all suggests Spence is a better body puncher.
New trainer and leave the island for months at a time....being in PR can't be good for his career...he starts believing the bullshit the people of the island tell him...."Loco tu eres el proximo TITO...pai"...the next day they calling him a "chata" or whaever...SHIT if Verdejo is REAL about his boxing career he would get a new trainer asap...move to the states(and NOT FLORIDA),...if anything I would move near the Mejicans...either Vegas or LA...even BETTER I would love for him to spend a few fight under the tutulage of Nacho Baristain...
And if he stays in PR, then at least hold your training camps on the other side of the island, far away from his friends and all the distractions. Training in San Juan can't be good if the goal is to focus and keep distractions away.
FUCK out of here with that fake patriotic 2nd string boner shit....fuck that..if that mejican is a better trainer than anyone in PR...he needs to make that move...last few fights Verdejo been bouncing bombs off his opponent's head...and they still stay vertical....I bet his team go back home and say..you need to THROW HARDER...HARDER punches...motherfuckin' is winging his punches...coming full force..take to work on cleaning up his technique/defense/using his reach, length advantage, and LEARNING to fight in the inside...shorten those punches up...counter off your opponent..relax take your time..you don't have to be first all the time...NACHO is that DUDE....
yeah seen this. Have anybody seen poomonorov? (I know him for beating Zewski but Zewski is pretty much a bum). Does he stand any chance against Spence?
from what I've seen of him, he's alright, moves well, has a decent jab... no power though and he does sometimes try to go straight back from punches
I really don't know for sure if this is accurate. The Russell fight? Yeah, it was very impressive. But IMO, P4P Spence would KO Russell. Realistically, Loma COULD have stopped Russell if he put his foot on the gas. He never did. Spence has more of killer instinct than Loma and he's a bigger puncher. ON TOP of having excellent skills himself. Spence has yet to lose a ROUND in his career. I think the Loma hype is going overboard. You would think this guy is Whitaker mixed with Duran mixed with Robinson the way some hype him. IF Loma was a welterweight, I wouldn't be positive in picking him over Spence. Spence is A LOT better than Russell. A LOT better. Russell is more flash than substance.
Spence is definitely better than Russell and hits harder than Loma, but footwork and boxing IQ belong to Lomachenko. Not that Spence lacks in these areas because he clearly doesn't, but Loma is sensational. Lomachenko's resume surpasses Spence's right now even after six fights.
I don't think the hype is unwarranted either. You're talking about possibly the greatest amateur fighter of all time here who is tearing shit up as a professional.
Loma is talented...and even though he's a bit overated by a few people....he's very good..but is really WASTING his TIME...Top Rank isn't moving him fast enough...6 fights in 3-4 years..that' POOPIE...He will brutalize Roman Martinez...and sadly I most admit that he can move on to another rican Jose Pedraza and will brutalize him 2...
A commanding win against an unbeaten US Olympian (who is now a beltholder) in his third pro fight is pretty good going, no?
...he has to fight the FIGHTS...being a great amateur...and looking good against 4-5 pro opponents....proves FUCK ALL... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yBfB1-awRLM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Agreed that the hype that he is getting is ridiculous. Sure he's shown some flashes of greatness, but he's far from a proven commodity yet.
