Looking back, in all of the movies he does come across as at very least weak and Beta when faced with situations involving women.

He says 'I do care' to Leia when she spits if Han cares about anyone; then shuts Han with an emphatic 'No!' when Han wonders if a princess and a guy like him can have something. And then that kiss in 'Empire': Luke was in cloud nine and jizzing all over the infirmary bed. Only when he founds out he & Leia are siblings is that he suppress his horny feelings towards her. If all this wasn't plain NORMAL heterosexual behavior, then nothing is.

All you pointed out is the main reason Luke Skywalker became such an icon: virgin nerds all over the planet finally had one of their own as the film's hero!!

 

They have found their new 'young' Han Solo: Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!) is in the final negotiations with Lucasfilm to become the star of a standalone star wars film about younger Han Solo.

 

The Han Solo movie had its two directors fired by Lucasfilm!

 

But the good news is that Ron Howard will complete the film.

Due to disagreements with the script, Jurassic World Colin Trevorrow is out from the director's chair for Episode IX, but J.J. Abrams is back as writer/director. That is good news if you loved his 'The Force Awakens" and were not impressed by 'Jurassic World'. Let me guess: this time Abrams will copy 'Return of the Jedi'?

OKAY STAR WARS FANS, TAKE A DEEP BREATH BEFORE YOU READ THIS:


Lucasfilm announced yesterday their plans for three new SW films. One will be the long talked about (and unnecessary) Boba Fett film. Logan director James Mangold has been signed to direct and co-write the screenplay with 'The Martian' writer, Simon Kinberg.
It was also hinted that there might be the also much rumored Obi Wan Kenobi film and rumor has it that Disney is negotiating with 'Billy Elliot' and "The Reader' director, Stephen Daltrey, to direct. Weird choice. No word on if Ewan Mcgregor has been approached.

But the news that caught everyone off guard was the announcement of Princess Leia and The Rebels: A Star Wars Story were younger actors will be cast to replace Leia and Luke, which might hint that this will be a post 'Return of the Jedi' tale? or maybe it is a pre-Rogue One Leia tale?

Anyway, fans are clamoring for Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier) to be cast as Luke due to the physical resemblance:

But who will be cast as Leia? I'll love to see my girl Hailee Steinfield get the role. She is young, has the acting chops, possess natural charm plus has a similar non-girly type of voice that Fisher had.

This was my original issue with the whole Disney version of the SW universe. Why do they focus so much time and energy on the same central characters over and over? There’s a whole galaxy and history out there of better stories and characters and Disney has free reign to do pretty much what they want. Instead Disney is playing it so safe, thinking so small.

 

Didn't they did 'Rogue One' with all new characters except a few cameos?

 

Yeah that’s like the only one and the only one they’ve discussed. Everything else has centered around characters from the first couple films.

 

If Kathleen Kennedy And JJ Abrams get removed by Disney and they hired someone who actually loves SW, we might even see films about the Knights of the Old Republic from centuries before the construction of the first Death Star. There have been books, comic books and video games about that era.


Also a Rogue Squadron film starring Wedge Antilles would be awesome.

 

The working title for Star Wars Episode 9, which will start filming next month, was changed from "Black Diamond' to 'Trixie' (roll eyes). Apparently J.J. Abrams changed the working title when Kathleen Kennedy forced him to hire a female black Second Unit director, Victoria Mahoney and probably thought 'Black Diamond' might had racial connotations...seems like another doomed project.

 

So, if you all hate Star Wars so much now....why are you keeping the multipe threads about it alive?

 

The Star Wars “EU” is second rate shit. There are no good ideas to be foun in it.

 

The force awakens was starting something potentially great though. Last Jedi just absolutely killed it.

Rey’s parents were nobodies
45 mins of casino planet sequence which added nothing to the story
Luke somehow projects a hologram of himself to a planet light years away and then just gives up the ghost
Luke is sucking at the tits of a hideous creature after tossing away a sacred lightsaber
Somehow lightspeed is weaponized
Annoying fat Asian girl who served no purpose but given a ridiculous amount of screen time
Finn, PO and Rey are completely wasted
Yoda ghost can somehow summon lightening (WTF?!)

Star Wars is dead

Everything not in the movies is not cannon. That said pretty much everything even fan fiction is better than The Last Jedi.

 

Who says I hate Star Wars? I am a lifelong fan since 1977 and am just plain pissed at what Disney/Kathleen Kennedy have been doing with the franchise lately. The sjw PC crap that ruined The Last Jedi & SoyLo needs to stop. Kathleen Kennedy needs to be fired. Disney needs to replace Kennedy with someone that is a franchise fan too and respects the original characters and respects the fans.

 

The Force Awakens was not great. That’s some serious hyperbole you’re spouting. It was bad enough that I walked out knowing I was done with that particular SW series. I never watched TLJ but going off all of the problems you listed it sounds like it was written by someone who had absolutely zero understanding and respect for Star Wars history, continuity and characters. It might actually be wise for Disney to just dump this series now and move on with their next two planned trilogies. I don’t think the majority of fans would mind.

I’m especially looking forward to what those guys who made the Game Of Thrones shows are going to do with their story.
