Like them or not, both are important contributors.

Important contributions??? To what exactly? The record collections of people with terminally poor taste?

Anyway, Supertramp were obviously superior in every single way ... their horribly annoying music involved expert craft and good playing

Styx were absolute hacks, one of the worst bands ever... Brutally awful

lol. You sound like a 16 year old. I see you are an opinionated jerk in aspects other than politics.

I'll be honest. I do not have any albums from either band. But I have heard them plenty on the radio. And both bands are obviously innovative and talented. I think they are similar in some ways. And therefore, comparing them could be interesting.

Yeah, Styx and Supertramp, two staples of platinum corporate FM for the masses... the music of REBELS

I guess we can add music to the list of subjects you know zilch about

    cdogg is right, 100%

Supertramp, like em or hate em, have avastly superior catalogue of songs and albums and more importanty, many of their songs are catchy.

I doubt whether anyone could name 3 songs by Styx, let alone any of their albums.

This is interesting. Cdogg doing exactly what he berated Anthony for - saying art is bad.

The Little River Band is better than both but I'd take Supertramp over Styx. They both had a few good good tunes though.

The drummer from Supertramp coaches baseball at some high school up the road from here.

Are you insane? Where did I berate Anthony for saying "art is bad"?

Why are you so fucking terrible at understanding things you read?

Styx performs the theme song for anyone who posts at fightbeat regularly.

"Too Much Time On My Hands."

I can name 3 Styx songs of the top of my head, but honestly I can't remember a single one by Supertramp without Googling it.

Even though they had at least four that were global Top 10 hits?

    Figures.

I just Googled the Supertramp top ten songs titles and still none of them ring a bell. Maybe they were banned at Puerto Rico's local radio stations?

Maybe. Puerto Rico's never been important anyway.

    But then...
panchyprsss + Music = Does Not Compute
    ...is a more believable reason

Keep in mind that in Puerto Rico, a Spanish speaking island, for every English song that plays on the radio there 15 songs in Spanish competing against it on the airwaves. Not every 'global hit' makes a dent there. However I haave been listening now to Supertramp songs in youtube and out of the ten I recognized one "the Logical song" and vaguely another one, "Goodbye Stranger" but both of them I just heard them casually in the oldies radio station, not because I could recognized them from years ago.

As for your little equation, I bet I have a bigger music album collection than yours.

How long have you lived in the USA?
Id have thought radio-play would make you aware of Dreamer, Give A Little Bit, Breakfast In América, The Logical Song...?

How many albums do you have? And don't fuckin lie, either.
