    I think Hagler is greater. But I think the question is worthy of a thread and I'm not too disappointed that the final vote has turned out close, Hopkins deserves that kind of regard. :bears:

    Who did Hopkins beat in a Super-Fight at 160?

    Its ironic. You couldnt name a more cautious, sly, sneaky, distance-oriented fighter than Bernard.

    Hagler was a proper 160lbr who overcame obstacles same as anyone.

    He didn't spend 15 rounds suckering Hearns into clinches either.

    The Trinidad fight was pretty much a superfight. I mean it wasn't Hagler-Hearns type hype, but Trinidad was very highly regarded at the time (Considered P4P #1) and undefeated and with a title and Bernard was considered the true Middleweight champ.

    The boxing world was pretty hyped for that fight.

    Relative to the size of boxing itself, Hagler-Hearns wasn't that much bigger than Hopkins-Trinidad. Both were fights between top 10 p4pers and Trinidad was a very marketable guy when Hops fought him.

    and Hearns won the LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TWICE, how can you in all honestly try to compare beating him to beating Trinidad and De La Hoys???

    Because Hopkins started really late, Hagler retired at a non-old age chronologically and there's only 6 years between their championship eras overlapping.

    If I was gonna guess without checking I'd probably have gone for about 11.:Thumbs:

    How about this - had Hagler kept going as long as Hopkins he might have fought for a world title the same night Floyd Mayweather won his first. :cheer:

    It seems a fair split. It kinda mirrors the voices in my head. I think among them it's maybe more 18-14 Hagler though.

    Both had several fabulous fights. Leonard/Duran I, MAB/Morales 1 and Pacquaio/Morales 1 are my three favourites.

    All in all the feathers probably had the better fights, but when you count in the atmosphere around them the originals take it. Hearns-Leonard, Hagler-Hearns and Hagler-Leonard are among the biggest classics of the game although MAB-Morales I and Pac-Morales II are perhaps the two best fights
