Arf. Id take the bottle off you, tell you to SIT DOON then put the pogues on and drink your bottle! Thwarted
That is a rare find! Kudos! That said, it doesn't mean it contradicts what I said. Sure, hippies knew most of these bands, but the rest of us have no clue who this long haired bearded musicians were.
Anything good the Beatles ever did was completely negated by Revolution #9. Not a huge fan, some stuff I like. I appreciate their influence in the music industry. A lot of their catalogue is filler. With the exception of Ringo they all came off as pompous douchebags. TFK
He wrote "Hey Jude", which people will probably be singing and whistling while foraging in some dystopian wasteland 600 years from now
McCartney: better musician, more ´artsy´/adventurous, dominant from 1966-69, less of a cunt, didn´t marry a weird Tojo.....list is endless...
How so? He always just came off as someone who knew he was a mediocre drummer and singer but was happy just to be along for the ride. TFK
is Ringo's drumming really blatantly mediocre though? what is missing? i know he had most of it written for him, but as long as he pulled it off and it worked then what's wrong i do wish they kept Octopuses Garden away from Abbey Road though
How many people though, listen to songs by The Beatles and go: ´Oh, those backwards fills dont sound too hot´ or ´the groove in "Let it Be" is slightly off´ or ´hmmmm....his syncopated beat is a bit sloppy, too´ ???
He did things differently, or it sounded different, because he's a leftie drummer and plays on a right handed kit. I never felt like he was a sloppy drummer, though, compared to say Moon. Moon gave the impression that he was sloppy, and he pretty much was, but his style was just wild. I have always preferred Ringo's style of play to Moon's.
Rings got the job done ... not a top drummer by any stretch but those songs didn't need Dave Weckl, just competence and good taste
