True Love is Forever. Rewatched this film again after many years. Gotta admit that when it first came out I didn't like it that much because I felt it had excessive violence for my taste. Watching it now I like it better and realized that the movie was simply a little ahead of its time. Brandon Lee did a helluva of a good job as Erik Draven the avenging deadman on a mission to settle the score with the murderers of his girlfriend (and himself). Each killing of the bad guys was memorable and satisfying. The scene where Erik burst into the bad guys meeting apparently inspired Nolan for his Joker doing something similar in The Dark Knight. Now I have greater appreciation too of the musical score and the songs from alt bands than I did in the 90's. This is a classic that the lame sequels couldn't match...nor the tv series. Too bad they are remaking it. 8/10

Queer, teenybopper horseshit. An immensely stupid film

Not surprising that fightbeat's most prominent closet case liked it

Nah, the sequels are all awful. They get progressively worse as they go along.

I said it looks like a classic before even knowing TITO FUCKING ORTIZ is in it! Now it's a definite classic.

It is not worth watching. It tries very hard to emulate the first film, but fails. It looks like a film Robert Rodriguez might have directed while sleepwalking at age 10 in the streets of Mexico. El Cuervo Mejicano.

I'm with CDogg on this one. I totally hated this film when I saw it in the theaters. I think the constant overly dark theme and atmosphere had a lot to do with it though.

It is dark, grim and a little depressing, but then so it is its original source, James O' Barr's graphic novel The Crow, which he created while mourning the sudden tragic death of his own fiance. If anything this movie was a very faithful adaptation of that book. I got the same jives the first time I watched it, but watching it now, I changed my opinion and appreciate it better for what it is.
