The Equalizer was good. Hopefully this one will be too. Denzel is almost never in bad movies. So let's wait and see.

John Wick is the better of these two somewhat similar franchises.

John Wick: Chapter 2 was disappointing, imo.
That is, in the fact that the action scenes are ridiculously way over-the-top and nonsensical to the point where you get bored of it.
And it´s over 2 fuckin hours long.

Reeves is a cool dude and far removed from all the modern-day Hollywood bullshit, so he gets a pass....but in this...it´s pushing it.

To this day, Speed remains the best Reeves movie... by a mile.

Good movie, but I prefer the original The Matrix and also enjoyed 47 Ronin.

Loved Wick 1. Wick 2 was boring. It became a 1 man expendables. Waaaay too unrealistic. I think he roughly killed 300 people in the sequel. Wick 1 was a legit 8.5/10. Wick 2 was 6/10

Equalizer is just about watching Denzel kick ass, basically. I’d say it did an excellent job of showing just that.

I expect more of the same from the second one.

The first Equalizer was pretty good on the first viewing. But I tried to rewatch it... blahhhh.

    Pretty mediocre.

Denzel was a bigger bad ass in Man on Fire... and even MOF isn't great.

equalizer started off promising and went downhill fast. Never saw man on fire but Danzel was great in training day. Now that's a great movie.

Equalizer is SMART in the Sense it’s a Hero Flick, Inherently. Maybe Not a Super-Hero Flick But a Hero Flick Nonetheless.

It’s a MARVELesque Movie Starring Denzel. And Given the Current Cinematic Climate You CANT Go Wrong w/That Formula.

Denzel's a lot more ruthless in Man on Fire. He ENJOYS killing.

In Training Day he's a different type of character because he's evil. I hate to say it.... but the movie hasn't aged well. Denzel's performance is still excellent, but Training Day itself isn't so great.

I watched Equalizer 2 last night. Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed this one more than the first one.

In this one, Denzel's connection with the young black kid who he's trying to steer in the right direction is more compelling than the connection he had with the lil slut in the first one.

Denzel is so fucking good as a badass that can take what would otherwise be a shit movie, and make it compelling.

This was by no means a GREAT, but it's watchable and fun.

My only issue with the film was the stupidity of the hit crew who knew what he was capable of but still let him flip the tables by going after him in an area he chose and when he knew they were coming. It went from them hunting him, to him hunting them and they allowed and pretty much initiated him getting the upper hand on them.

Do yourself a favor, don't ever look for too much intelligence in an Antoine Fuqua movie.
