I hate all this catchweight crap. It happened here and there over the years but in the past decade or so, it's just gotten ridiculous. Canelo does to his credit have a good track record of opposition faced. I'm hoping it's just Canelo using negotiation tactics to get more $$ against GGG when the fight happens, or to "compromise" at the fight weight being 157-158. Not like that isn't annoying too, it should be at 160, but that would be better than 155 or the fight just not taking place.
How the fuck is this little cunt getting his own PPV's anyways. He hasn't done shit besides squeak by a geriatric Cotto anyways.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the original 155 catch weight was set by Cotto for their fight. My guess is he' taking this fight at 155 because he wnts to continue as a middleweight AFTER this fight. If someone reads into this that he's afraid to take on Khan at 154 instead of 155, I think you're really reaching for shit to criticize someone.
If the fight was at 160 they'd say he's getting all the advantages over the little WW Khan. If he fights at 154 he's running away from the MW division, afraid to step up. If he fights at 155 (where he can defend the existing belt and continue was MW champ without making the opponent jump up 13 lbs) it's a joke that they call it a MW title fight. Once this fight was signed it was a no win situation where they decided to set the weight. Remember fightbeat posters picked Cotto to beat Canelo by a wide margin before that fight. After the fight, it instantaneously turned into a "gimme" fight against an old tiny midget. Same old fightbeat...
I wish HBO would stop hyping this Frankie Gomez bum. Making it seem like he's some ultra talent. He's garbage.
Never in a million years thought I'd be rooting for this annoying turd, but Ginger bitch deserves a whuppin. So... WAR KHAN!!!
Agreed his team must have seen GGG beat Lemiux and underrated him. Tapia looks in over his head and timid. He ain't ready for this level and it's going to be a short one.
