Davis is nasty when he has an opponent hurt

I like how Floyd handles himself in front of the camera here. Not forcing himself into the picture and saying it's Davis' night tonight. :bears:

There's a lot to like about Davis. Shame that Walsh couldn't test him but Davis is very quick, has awesome power and a killer instinct.

Walsh was supposed to be a threat?

Well, he could have asked him questions if he didn't give away his height for example. End of the day, Davis took advantage.

guy fights a bit like Russel. fast, agressive hard punching southpaw. Might give a fight to Loma since he's a bit bigger than russel, and Russel was able to wins a few rounds

Davis looked good today, but Walsh looked horrible.

To Davis' credit, as Jimmy said, he is a good finisher.

Gary Russell Junior is one arrogant, annoying sonuvabitch.

And Andre Dirrell pulled the SECOND acting quit job of his career. Both Dirrell brothers are faggots.

That wasn't a dq foul, that should have been a No-Contest. Protect yourself at all times is exactly for the 1/2 second after the bell rings.

I've hyped Escandon since I saw him walk through that very solid Argentine. I don't mind him being an underdog to Russell, but I saw 100-1 underdog on fightnews and that's just fucking crazy.
Almost looked into online betting when I saw that.

I wasn't entertained watching Barthelemy receive the most blatant robbery of the year.

R1 Russell looks very good. Lands lots of uppercuts on my guy. Escandon shows some stuff, but Russell looks like a big favorite despite me thinking Escandon is basically even coming in.

R2 Escandon landing some really decent stuff. Russell not fighting a smart fight in the sense that he's giving Escandon a chance to land a lot of shots. Still, Russell landed more and his uppercuts continue....he's up 2-0

R3 Russell lands a very big right hook very early in the round. Escandon hurt bad. Russell shows he's not the greatest finisher and Escandon manages to survive and do okay after a full minute of being dead on his feet.

R4 Excellent comeback round for Escandon. He was busier. Russell still doing a lot right, but that round was close and I think Escandon won it. Type of round that being ringside would be important, but Escandon landed a lot of clean stuff comparable to Russell...and more of it.

R5 another very good round. I thought Escandon may have been nipping it, but Russell wins the last 20 seconds big and that probably tipped it to him. 4-1 +1

R6 Another decent round. Escandon might have been a little ahead, but Russell landed a sequence of uppercuts that were very clean 2 minutes in and that was the best stuff of the round. Probably another Russell round. Most importantly, despite Escandon landing, he's not hurting Russell.

R7 Russell comes out smarter and doesn't let Escandon get in close. Lands some very clean stuff and I didn't see what hurt Escandon (guessing he didn't either) but he goes down and the ref just stops it. A little quick, but no complaints. Farhood was in the middle of saying he didn't give Escandon a round and there shouldn't be charity rounds in boxing.

Floyd has already ruled out a Davis-Lomachenko fight. "Lomachenko is with Top Rank, let him stay over there". Fuxake.

It wasn't even the biggest robbery of the weekend. Murata-Njikam was.

I didn't see the Murata fight but yeah, I heard it was a horrendous decision.

What are people's thoughts on David Benavidez?

    That kid can really fight

Not sure there are any super middles I'd pick over him

I think it's a smart move in all honesty. He's not ready for Loma and there's no point in looking for that fight as he'll just get embarrassed. That fight may happen when the time is right. It may never happen.

He's in line to face the winner of Dirrell/Smith vs Yildirim, right?
