Exactly. And as I said, we can credit thurman for that. He almost never clinched even when Porter was working him inside. I think he won the fight.
I thought Thurman won close and the fight was decently entertaining (though aesthetically horrible) but not even close to a great fight, never mind the "legendary fight" and "the fight of the year" that this announcer kept saying... There was a reasonable degree of drama in a few of the middle rounds but the opening rounds were basically awkward and shitty and the late rounds featured a lot more looking than punching
At times he reminded me of a prime Shane Mosley. No where near as fast of course but I saw similarities.
Better than I expected. Hell, at times I was thinking Barrera Morales. I don't think Thurman's power is overrated, I think Porter's chin is just great. Do not care to see an immediate rematch. I'd rather these guys prove they are the two best. I don't think they are, but they might be. Porter vs Bradley is the fight to make.
Thurman isn't going to give Porter a rematch . The decision was fair...very close fight as phonetap expected. phonetap expected Porter's aggressive wild nature to give Thurman problems and it did but Thurman was able to land big counter shots which was the difference.
I think you're being too harsh. It was a good fight by any standards. Legendary? Lol. Hell no. It wasn't Corrales-Castillo, Pryor-Arguello, or Tito-Vargas... but it was a good scrap. By far the most electric I've ever heard Barclays Center for a fight.
Yeah, hopefully that fight can be made for early next year. I'd like to see it. Might as well. Neither want any part of Spence. BTW.... all these guys beat Danny Gift.
Yeah, Garcia couldn't beat these guys , but he's game though so he'd last the distance and make them work for the win.
