Oscar doesn't make my list. There's more than 10 welters in history who would defeat Oscar. That's no bias... I hate DLH but I'm objective about him. I just think more highly of him at 140 than I do of him at 147.

Curry would soundly beat Oscar. Though Terp, as the resident Curry hater, I'm sure will disagree.

I'm not convinced Mayweather beats prime Trinidad and De La Hoya at 147-154 pounds, and I don't rate those two on the same level as Robinson and Leonard.

Floyd is an all time great 130-135 pounder but not 147 pounder.

Trinidad stops Floyd at 147, IDGAF what this "Have you ever seen him hurt???" groupie says.

Prime Oscar wins a clear UD over Floyd at 147. Possibly beats him at 140 also.

Benitez would have soundly beaten the De La Hoya version that Mayweather edged out, and he may not have even needed the judges. Oscar was pretty close to being shot at that point and had lost a lot of his quickness and reflexes by the time Floyd caught up to him.

And Benitez would have slapped Pacquiao around. Any version of Manny.

Yup, dude knew how to swell and bleed well. Lol

Seriously though, Basilio was obviously a great welterweight but in terms of abwho beats who I don't see him beating De La Hoya or Whitaker and I think Trinidad would have butchered him.

Quartey would have given Mayweather hell. Floyd was more dynamic and I could see him capitalizing on Ike's tendency to fade late, but that would be a super difficult fight for him.

Everyone who knows boxing knows that Tito has trouble with movement and potshotting. Tito doesn't cut off the ring well and needs to be set to punch. Floyd would beat him rather easily actually

Floyd is ATG at 4 weights....most vulnerable at 147lbs but still ATG. Robinson had greater physical gifts than Floyd, obviously, but Floyd is smarter and more elusive. That would be the difference if they fought head to head. Would be close. Leonard is a much harder fight for Floyd IMO. I can't see Floyd beating Leonard.

Curry would have outfoxed oscar early but then he would have gotten knocked out.

By the way...why are you guys so cowardly? I'm willing to provide a list and expose myself to criticism and scrutiny for the basic excitement and enjoyment of the forum and all you fellas are willing to do is whine about my choices but not have the balls to produce your own lists and open yourself to scrutiny. Bunch of ladyboys...

Floyd is better on a pound 4 pound scale than a lot of welters, but that doesn't make him a better 147 pounder than them.

The majority of guys Floyd beat at 147 were not true welterweights in their prime, and even if they were, they were not on the same level as the true elite 147 pounders of the 80s, 90s, and prior.

Imagine the ease the likes of Trinidad and De La Hoya would have had facing the same competition that Mayweather faced at 147 and 154... They'd probably be hailed as all time greats and maybe even with a great chance to retire undefeated had it they not sought out the more dangerous competition.

I'm gonna forgive Sly this time and assume he made typo. I fully agree with you, Sly. Floyd would certainly beat Ivan Robinson.

    Could Robinson handle Canelo?????

    Food for thought...

It's a decent point, I wont lie, Puerto Rock is a thinker and not some kneejerk clown like Xplosive.

But I'm speaking more to "who beats who" than to the quality of resume at that weight. Floyd's resume is much better than given credit for...but that aside, I say Floyd would have beaten both Oscar and Tito.
